Since last week was a bomb at the flea markets due to rain, it appears everyone was out in force today, even though the temperature was in the 30's.

Got this Craftsman set and case for $2.00. They have "dirt-rust" on them (easily cleaned off) 60 Craftsman sockets and a case for $2.00. I almost fell over when she told me the cost.

Got all these for $5.00. I like the idea of small fire extinguishers to have around me. A craftsman 1/4 breaker bar with Craftsman extension. A 1/4 Craftsman ratchet and a USA made soft head hammer. Plenty of bungees too. Always need these.

All this for $5.00. A nice MALCO USA made zip strip tightener, A USA made Coping saw and a couple of USA made screwdrivers.

Not really tool related, but along with this stuff was this Brand new, never used Ketadyne pocket water filter. Again, I almost fell over when she said she wanted $2.00 for it. (These are pretty expensive)

Lastly from this seller was this KOBALT partial set. Danaher made KOBALTS. All for $2.00

All these Snappy (5 MATCO) with case with Channellock Snap ring pliers (These are nice!!, need some tips though!) for $60.00.

My main one is done but there are some good ones that run all winter long.

I think those Kobalts are made by Williams.

Nice stuff. Are you going to soak all those sockets in vinegar??

I'm jealous.

I wanted to hit the local flea market today, but couldn't get there....maybe next week.

Congrats BWP.

Great haul! I love that Cman ratchet. It is my favorite go to 1/4 drive. Those mid-deeps look nice too.

Our fleas just are NOT like that. When people are setting up at like 6:30am and only dealers are being allowed in, half a dozen or so tool sellers walk around and buy all the good tools. Very often the regular, but not tool specific, sellers will have the good tools sorted out ready when they come by. Some sellers try for a high price all day, and sell to a tool seller all thats left before they leave.

Yeah, I misspoke. You are correct, those are the Williams made ones.

I am going to dump them all into a big bucket of vinegar! May post pics later.

Back in the mid '90s when I lived in Michigan, I was going up to the local flea market every weekend. Usually bought from one guy in particular...he had a whole box of Craftsman wrenches and sockets. I had a decent base set from Craftsman, and filled out the rest of the ones I needed buying from this guy.

Paid about 30% the price of new. Also got quite a few extensions and some other ratchets. That's the same flea market I got a 1970s Craftsman 3/4" ratchet in excellent shape for $30. :bounce:

I wasn't expecting anything. I almost grudgingly went.

Just when I think I believe I can predict how good a flea market day can be, I get constantly proved wrong.

BTW have you ever been to the flea market in the Old Drive in theater in Columbus? It is about 2-3 miles north of 270 (South side) on route 23. I had a great day when I went there a couple of years ago when visiting relatives.

Got lots of other good stuff I didn't even post.

I.E. a 25lb Scale for $5.00 (for Ebay sales). Socket holders for $2.00.

Are you interested in selling those Kobalt sockets? I have a set of SAE/Metric in 3/8" drive and I wouldn't mind some spares in case I break mine.

I'm also looking for a 10mm Williams made Kobalt socket in 3/8 drive in case anyone has one.

I was at the market yesterday as usual no tool deals.

There werre the usual 2 selling tools, 1 sells cheap tools at truck prices, AMtech screwdriver bits for £2, get them in a shop for £5 and so on.

Then th eolder guys with the good tools but in useless sizes. Imperial is no use to any european mechanic, there were gordon, britool, stahlwille and so on, but I have no need for any imperial tools I have plenty that sit doing nothing as it is.

I did however buy some sweets and some 13 games and another console for £6 to add to my other collection I have

Nice haul! I get most of my tools from flea markets, and the deals can be outstanding. Most of what I see locally is all older,US made, quality stuff. The best are the guys that just dump everything out on a tarp, and sell it piece meal for 25 cents to $1 each.
