Okay guys, I cleared off my desk and piled on all the tools I purchased in the past 6 weeks or so. I've picked up tools I need, tools I want, and a few tools that I neither need nor want, but looked neat enough to warrant an evaluation. I also plan on reviewing a few retailers, so that should be fun.

Many of these tools have already seen use, but I kept the packaging for photographing their unboxing for review.
Quite a few soo-to-be-reviewed products are not in this pileup, such as Craftsman pro screwdrivers, and a few others, but I think that my desk was cluttered enough as it is.
I was hoping to do a Witte, Wera, Wiha comparison, but missed out when the Wera microdrivers were sold via Amazon and now they're unavailable. Yes I know they're available elsewhere, but Amazon was my retailer-of choice due to credit card rewards gift cards.
Enjoy this teaser photo for now, and brace yourselves - my reviews will most likely hurt your wallets in ways that you have not yet experienced. =)

I'm down for the Wera / Wiha thing. I recently discovered Weras and am all about those now.

I have a classics set and a comfort set to put through their paces. I wanted a Kraftform 300 set, but alas, they went to "unavailable" status through amazon as well before I could order a set. Still, I'll be able to evaluate the ergonomics and general quality.
I have the following screwdriver styles from Wiha to test: 3K soft ergonomic, the soft finish, and micro finish, as well as two styles of the precision screwdrivers.
Billymade - I left the photo as a thumbnail and direct link (although people can click the thumbnail) for a reason.
Also, the reviews won't be posted in this thread. This is merely a teaser thread. =)

I really like my Wiha PicoFinish and my dad highly approves of the insulated Wera set.

What's the timeframe for your reviews?
Where is your desk? It looks like a garage, but I thought you were currently in an apartment without a garage.

It's hard to say.
I've been trying to work on the infrastructure of my own site, but if I keep waiting until things are exactly as I want them to be, things will be perpetually delayed. As of now, the reviews will start rolling soon, as time permits. lol, could I be any more vague?
I currently am in an apartment w/o a garage. But, it just so happens that some of the walls are constructed with cinder blocks. The other side of the same room has an aluminum studded wall w/ flimsy drywall. Don't worry, as soon as this room gets cleaned up (never) I'll post some pics.

Hey Stuey .. your apartment sounds like it's a basement; never heard of walls made of cinder blocks .. :)

In some ways it looks like a basement too!

I am also interested in the Wiha/Wera comparison.

I can't wait for your screwdriver comparisons!! I have been having a hard time pulling the trigger on screwdriver sets without any real info about them.

I called James Town Distributor on Monday afternoon and ordered three sets of Weras, one insulated set for my father, one for my brand new brother in law, and one for my brother. I am impressed with these!
I think that they are much nicer than the Snap On Instinct or Matco stuff. I just wish that they were easier to get a hold of and buy.
I am told that WiHas are easier to get but the Weras are a better screwdriver. Lemme hear everyone's opinion on that - I want to replace my mish-mash screwdriver set with some Krauts Drivers.

Don't forget that a PB Tools set is in the mix as well...
I plan on doing individual reviews before I tackle comparisons, so it might be a while. I might start off with previews to get the ball rolling, though.
Informally, I have a bias towards Wiha because of the ease of availability, and from great first-hand experience.

Looking forward to them!
I also recently got some PB Swiss stuff that I wanted to review. Besides the pick set, I don't see much overlap with what I got. If you post the reviews on your own site, maybe I can send you some pics and a paragraph with my impressions.

Sounds good. I picked up a pick set, myself. :D

Cool, did you happen to buy any of their phillips screwdrivers? I was really close to buying their 4 piece set the other day.

Sorry, but no. I bought the small picks, full size hose picks, trim remover set, T-handle, and some bits. Plus I have an old (15+ years) PB Swiss screwdriver (slot) I plan to take pics of to show how well the stuff holds up.

T-handle? So you're the one that snatched it up! I didn't see it in the listing at all, and then the next thing I know when I check again several days later, it's listed as "unavailable!"

Yep, T-handle :)
It's quite nice, too. I'll send pics as part of my review. Spins freely and is well made (but does have C-rings holding the handle).
Sorry to rub it in...

Okay, so I'm about ready to begin posting reviews! Actually, I'm nowhere near ready, but I've putting this off for long enough.
Anyways, stay tuned!

Thanks for the warning, I'll go lock up my wallet... :D
Reminds me to take some pics of the PB stuff... I'll get on that sometime this weekend.
