Would you guys pay $300 for the matco box pictured below. Just looking for a home use box for working on my own cars. I've read here that 18" D isn't enough, Suggestions?

Yup.. I'd say its worth the $300 for all 3 pieces as long as all the slides work properly, etc.

Saw that set this morning in the CL. Yeah, it looks like it's worth it. I don't need it, have way too many boxes now, but you should go look at it. It won't be there long.

It's a good deal. As long as other members posting that 18in is not deep enough, that's theit opinion. If this box will fit your needs than it's deep enough for you.

Assuming it isn't beat to horribly then if I had $300 I would be all over it without even thinking about it.

For 300.00, it looks fine. Looks like the old Proto boxes, probably friction slides.

15 isnt deep enough but 18 would do and for 300 I would be on it. Next best option is probably twice that plus some. What is Matco,, they have rollers?

Judging by the looks of those boxes they are old enough that everything is friction slide instead of roller. However those old friction boxes are pretty dang smooth and built to hold a TON of tools.
