Sorry if this has been posted before, but for those Plomb crazy people see here: http://www.vannattabros.com/plomb/plombtool.html
I ran across it today trying to figure out the date on my WF-7 breaker bar. Pretty informative stuff, sucks to hear about the author (at the end of the page).

That one's run by one of our own GJ members here, PlumBob. A very knowledgeable (and friendly) dude. He gets all my difficult-to-answer Plomb questions. In return I do a little academic library research for him. Currently I owe him a couple hours in the library. I haven't forgotten, PlumBob! School starts soon!

They were a cool old company with interesting Art-Deco-like design...

Plomb made industrial tools and turned into Proto tools when they got sued and had to change their name. Then got bought out by IR and then in 84 Stanley which still owns them today, and what makes them a little different is they still use the same parts numbers as back then today, and still make ratchets with the same guts, the problem is 24 teeth doesn't quite make in against 60 or even a dual 80, but the point is they have lasted and stood the test of time and are still made.

Yes, that is a very good Plomb website and I was saddened to see this note when I visited it this morning :
"As some of you may know, I have been fighting Melanoma for some seventeen years. It has finally caught up with me and I have been given just a few months remaining. My intentions are to make this the last update. The Page will remain on the internet for several months and then will be removed. Perhaps some of you may wish to print some of the sections as a matter of historical interest."
