Searching on craigslist found these, I've seen tools like this before. What are they, model T tools? http://columbus.craigslist.org/tls/962922768.html

three of them look to be ford wrenches. i don't know whether those were automotive or not but most likely tractor wrenches.

I never thought about them being tractor wrench's, and we are surrounded by farms. I see them every once in a while and never knew their origins.:headscrat

with some good cleaning up, they would be kinda cool to have.

Old wrench are cool in Elroy's book and yes they need to be cleaned up. Ones that have heavy pitting take much more effort in this regard. And believe it or not, the kind of corrosion plays a great deal in how easily they would clean up. Typically they are worth a whole lot but they can be fully functional.

As you can see, the top wrench in this picture is in very good condition. At this point it has only seen a wire brush. The bottom wrench is about 80% ruff polished.

Did Krusty say tractor wrench? Something like this "Binder" wrench:

The middle "1893" wrench is cast iron. It would be function on low torque stuff ONLY. That is unless you wanted to break it. They aren't very strong. The International how ever is fully forged. These old wrenches are typically forged from carbon steel and don't have the strength of a modern "alloy" tool. They are so thick you can't really hurt them. They also bend substantially before breaking so you know when to stop pushing them.

If those wrenchs in the add landed in Elroy's lap he would pick them up in a heart beat. They're worth maybe a buck each. Not much more.

i agree on the buck each...........maybe two if they are really nice. i passed on an early blackhawk T handle wrench for $10 today and an early husky female drive ratchet for $6. i would have popped for the ratchet if it wasn't locked up.

From Don Garlits museum in Ocala Fla. Here is what an early Ford tool set looked like:
