What color tape should I use to remark the white wire I am using in a new 220v circuit. I am using 10-2 with a ground an the existing wires are black and white. Sould I tape the white wire with red or black tape?

Thanks!

All thats needed is a single band of red tape near each termination.

Red or Black on both ends and any terminations (mid length splice, etc)

Color the white wire with a black sharpie the entire length you can see and reach. Good rule of thumb I learned as an apprentice Union Electrician

Uh..
Shouldn't you be useing 10-3 with a red, black, and white wire?
The uninulated ground wire in 10-2 isn't ment to be used as a netrual in a 220 circuit.

There is no neutral in a 220v circuit - just 2 hots...

He did say that it is being used as a service. In the case as you say, than it could be used without a neutral for a dedicated 240v connection with no need for 120 or a neutral connection.

I would get a piece of shrink tube and slide it over the wire

Maybe I had a poor choice of words in my original statement. The cable I am using is a 10-2 with a ground (Black/White/Bare) and the circuit that I am installing is a 220V circuit. I was asking how to identify the white wire which would be connected to a breaker. The Black wire would be connected to a breaker on the other Line, and the ground would be connected to the ground bar. There is no need for a neutral wire in a 220v circuit.
