Tease!! You could have just waited to post until you could have taken the pictures but no, you had to set the stage by first posting that you picked up a box of old Snap on tools. Way to cast that line and see who's biting,

They have some grind marks on them and there are some old craftsman and indestro wrenches as well.

Probably because Wrenchr gets so many deals that when he says its a good deal most of us know it probably deserves major suckage. If he thinks its a good deal the rest of us bow down to his deal finding ability.

This covers 20s thru 40s. The four pt wrench is very hard to find, been looking for one myself. The old socket is a wingnut socket from the 20s.

Now you officially suck!!! Really nice box. Will you clean it up?
If so, I'd love to see it again when it's restored.

What size is the double offset in the picture above, the wrench at the top? It looks like a 5/8" X 3/4"

Very cool indeed!! Why do a lot of vintage tools have those little indentations ground into them?

Its one of the old ways of tool owner identification, before small hand engravers hit the market. File marks, center punch marks, center punch letters are quite common on earlier tools.

ID marks so you would know your tools.

Cleaning up as in degreasing and waxing it!!! The bottom drawer was opening very hard, but I fixed it:beer:

Utica, it was bent but I bent it back.

I have a small army of 4" wrenches, no Utica though. They are very collectible and some can fetch a pretty penny or two. I will have to post mine some time soon.

I like the cap grenade on the right side of the drawer.
Remember the old paper rolls of caps for your cap gun? You'd tear off one and put it in the head of this little bomb, then lob it near whoever you were playing army with, it'd hit the ground nose-first, and go bang.
Nice box of tools, too. I wonder if the original owner ever regretted putting the rounded saw teeth on the side of his wrenches to mark them? Seems like they'd dig into his palm or fingers for stubborn fasteners. Putting them on the top surfaces of the wrenches would have been better.

Yeah, that makes sense. I just wasn't sure, thanks.
