Seems like a good price, but I'm still not really interested. Well, I'm interested in tools and different brands, but not enough to buy it.

Looks like a nice set, I thought eBay made it mandatory that sellers had to accept paypal?

hmm...I didn't know that. It seems like something ebay would do though, to make more money

I was searching on ebay a few months ago for Koken and saw that. Either it did not sell or the seller has more than 1. I should get it for my Honda motorcycles. Koken does have a good reputation.

The seller has more than one, I picked one up about a month ago. It's a interesting little set. All of the tools are 3/8 drive, and the back side of the ratchet has a built-in socket 14mm or so (haven't used it yet)

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but that set is listed as being from the 60's, assuming my math is correct. Wasn't the stuff from Japan junk in the 1960's?

The majority was. These seem to be made pretty well made, though I haven't really used them for anything yet.

Just e-mail the seller and ask them if they'll accept USPS money orders. I just bought a couple of tools over the last two weeks and the seller took the money orders just fine.

The ratchet in that set bears a striking resemblance to a Proto!

I emailed him about local pickup... I'd love to get that set to toss in an old Dato when/if I ever get my roadster project going. Haha...

I've used Koken sockets for over thirty years and they're still like new. But I don't do it every day or for a living.

He probably does not take PP because of him having to refund too many times, look at his feedback. Of course Fleabay will not bother him because he's a powerseller

His feedback does not look too bad until you use the feedback finder site, buyer beware with this guy.

"Money order payments are forbidden on Ebay, as of Oct 20, 2008. Read their payment policy. Payments are ONLY accepted by us through Visa & Mastercard. We would have to have you prepay by one or the other, then set up an appointment time. Sorry, we do not accept cash payments exept if cash is brought to the penny, because ias we noted before, we do not operate nor encourage walk-in trade. Our business is worldwide, so we cannot accommadte casual buyers. It really would be more convenient for all to simply mail you the item, if you choose to buy. Liberty is a long drive from Raytwon, and to try schedule around our availabloe times is a bit dicey. For example, we absolutely don't permit pickup on Monday, as winter and summer we are loaded with orders to process and ship. "
Sounds pretty much like they are just someone shipping out of a house, etc.. so they obviously don't want anyone coming to pick up. He almost makes it sound like they wouldn't even take my CCD if I showed up. Pretty lame. So much for customer service. Pretty lame IMHO.

I never heard of them, so I would pass. Vintage for this cracker means old, plus USA, plus the right brand. I don't see all the oldies as all that great, only the select ones I deem fit!

Not to hijack this thread, but has anyone heard of SEK tools from Japan? I bought a 25/32" SEK socket at a pawnshop a couple weeks ago. I normally dig thru the sockets and only buy American, but this socket has a NICE finish. Looks to be pretty high quality.

He did you a favor, that set is not worth that.
