I only dipped my toe in the water and got the one...my most used fastener - 8mm. The accuracy of the fastener fit is amazing. So much better from the stuff I have been using. I will now be looking for a 10mm and a hex set in this format I think. The handle is comfortable and grippy, the only thing I would of liked is a magnetic insert in the socket to hold the bolt, but I'm still happy with it.

I have been tossing up what German brand to replace my socket range and have been very happy with my recent Stahlwille purchases and would have to find something else pretty good not to go with them.

Got a few Willi Hahn tools in yesterday from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal:

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e8/barth7/Tools%20Gararge/w1.jpg

Neither the cutters nor hammer were marked Made in Germany, that I saw. Plan to give the cutters as a gift, while the big hammer will become my motivator for moving parts that I do not want to mess up.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e8/barth7/Tools%20Gararge/W3.jpg

Comparison of a couple types of Wiha handles:

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e8/barth7/Tools%20Gararge/W2.jpg

And my EHD screwdriver set with some Torx added in (the t-handles are freebies!):

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e8/barth7/Tools%20Gararge/w5.jpg

Sure, you may say those screwdrivers are too fat and heavy, but they can carry thier own weight (look ma, no magnets!)

The black shaft/red plastic handle is branded as Proturn by Wiha. This is a lower-cost brand of Wiha tools.
As of 2010, none of Wiha pliers, cutters, needle-nose pliers, etc are made in Germany. Instead, they are made in SROV (Soviet Republic of Vietnam). Please see links below:

http://chadstoolbox.com/wiha32608basicpliers8piecesetinrolluppouchincludes combohlcombolongnose63and8diaghilevflatnoseandrndn s.aspx

Also, look for Wiha pliers on www.chadstoolbox.com, www.amazon.com
they all say "Made in SROV"

The Bosch GSB 10,8-2-LI will be available in 2 versions: with 2 batteries, charger, L-Boxx and holster for 179.- € + tax and as solo tool in a cardboard box for 115.-€. So itīs about 20.-€ more than the GSR 10,8-2-LI drill set (RM84 more than the drill in a set). The GSR drill is made in Malaysia, so i guess the GSB will be from Malaysia too!?

yeah their angle grinders look really interesting, when i have some money again in 2012 (hopefully :D) iīll try to get one :) Donīt own a 4"/100mm grinder :) But it seems they only make them in 100 Volt and some models in 200 Volt...

ps: Do you know what "angle grinder" or "Power tools" is in japanese ? I try to find power tools from "Toshiba" again, i once found a site but itīs down....

Danke! It's probably my only chance of owning anything Festool. :( I need to win the lottery or I somehow attain some inheritance money from some distant relative that I don't even know.

Unlike the modern stuff, Kosoku stuff looks very orthodox/old school. I take it you really dig that. :)

A literal translation of "angle grinder" would be アングルグラインダー ; however, they refer to pneumatic angle grinders.
What we call angle grinders in English is instead called "disc grinders" in Japanese: ディスクグラインダー
"グラインダー" is "grinder"

"Power tools" would be "電動工具"

Here's an index to Toshiba's power tools: http://www.nidec-tecnom.com/Products/TOOL_PUMP/power_tools/power_tool_toppage/frame_syouhintop.html

Replaced the struts on my VW this weekend, and these Stahlwille offsets were just the ticket. I also used them for regular wrenching tasks that didn't necessarily involve obstructed bolts, and they did great. These wrenches are neat to hold and seem to be a bit longer than a combo wrench in the same size range. Here's a pic from when they first arrived.

Love those! I need to get at least a 21 and 22 mm version of these for my cars. Hazet makes a 21/22, where Stahl doesn't.

I have a few of the shallow offset SAE ones with the good marking ;) And they are long!

Well, for my birthday I got a tool box. Nothing fancy at all, but a upgrade for me. I haven't got it up yet, so no real pics, just some from the store.

It's Cocraft, the house brand of the "Clas Ohlson" hobbyist store chain. Generic cheap stuff.
http://www.clasohlson.se/Archive/Images/Products/Hi/40-7819.jpg
http://www.clasohlson.se/Archive/Images/Products/Hi/40-7818_1.jpg

When I get it up there will hopefully be some pics.

I have bought some tools also. My 2mm Gedore punch had this happen:
http://basilier.org/Tools/broken_punch.jpg
So I bought a new one at Bauhaus. And a long, small chisel.
http://basilier.org/Tools/IMG_1091.jpg
http://basilier.org/Tools/IMG_1103.jpg

I also got the 16mm Matador straight box wrench. I had skipped that size previously when buying them. But now it appears that Matador "Made in Germany" is disappearing so I thought i should get it. So the 14 and 17mm line wrench had to be bought also.
http://basilier.org/Tools/IMG_1097.jpg
I looked at other Matador stuff when I was there, and there was new wrenches and sockets with no COO marking on them... :(

Also some Knipex pliers. Small cutter and wire stripper.

Unlike the modern stuff, Kosoku stuff looks very orthodox/old school. I take it you really dig that. :)

yeah the tools look nice, not that fancy rubber coated Toys RīUs stuff from nowadays :D

The link is exactly what i was looking for !!! Danke !!! ;)
thanks for the translation too !!
I wonder why tools from Toshiba and Kosoku as well as the japanese Ryobi are only available in asian countries but not worldwide like Makita or Hitachi ?

Replaced the struts on my VW this weekend, and these Stahlwille offsets were just the ticket. I also used them for regular wrenching tasks that didn't necessarily involve obstructed bolts, and they did great. These wrenches are neat to hold and seem to be a bit longer than a combo wrench in the same size range. Here's a pic from when they first arrived.

beautiful wrenches !!!

Err... I have to check my account first:D

Don't now :D ;)

:D

Thanks for the info, you are the best to ask:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
looks like it easy to get one here:D

should be ! Direct from the factory

Precision wire cut machine..this machine cut a steel plate using their very fine wire (0.2mm) with their 5 axis U,V,X,Y and Z perfect for precision cutting small hole and etc.
even our Japanese engineer team admit ArgieCharmilles was the world best precision cutting machines

so itīs a "EDM" machine/wire eroding machine ?
Japanese engineers saying a swiss machine is the best and not Mitsubishi or equal ? They must do hara-kiri ! :D

:shocking:

Correction:

Made in Germany + USA. Doesnīt sound too bad :)

Well, for my birthday I got a tool box.

happy birthday

Nothing fancy at all, but a upgrade for me. I haven't got it up yet, so no real pics, just some from the store.

It's Cocraft, the house brand of the "Clas Ohlson" hobbyist store chain. Generic cheap stuff.

but looks good !
Itīs better to invest in good hand + power tools anyway :)

I have bought some tools also. My 2mm Gedore punch had this happen:
:shocking: how did that happen ?

I also got the 16mm Matador straight box wrench. I had skipped that size previously when buying them. But now it appears that Matador "Made in Germany" is disappearing so I thought i should get it. So the 14 and 17mm line wrench had to be bought also.
I looked at other Matador stuff when I was there, and there was new wrenches and sockets with no COO marking on them... :(

i wonder if only the "Bauhaus-Matador" tools are imported now or the non Bauhaus stuff too ? We have some Matador wrench sets in rectangular plastic boxes, upon closer inspection wrenches in one box were marked "HR" which is a brand from India ... :shocking:

Also some Knipex pliers. Small cutter and wire stripper.

cute cutter :)

Installer's used Japanese precision spirit level to make sure our baby stand right

Ufff, impressive spirit level:bowdown: Do you know anything about this Japanese brand ?

...I also got the 16mm Matador straight box wrench. I had skipped that size previously when buying them...Also some Knipex pliers. Small cutter and wire stripper.

20/9 set 6mm -24mm right?, how much do you pay for a set? $$$
I'm order 20/7 a set last month..hope it reach to me this week:bounce:

It was a 20/8 set up to 22mm with a 21mm/23mm added on as a single. I used the Advance Auto Parts VISA code to make the 8-pc something like $100 or so. :)

Love those! I need to get at least a 21 and 22 mm version of these for my cars. Hazet makes a 21/22, where Stahl doesn't.

I have a few of the shallow offset SAE ones with the good marking ;) And they are long!

Shallow offset SAE with the old school motto? Those are terrific!

Are the plates and bowls made in France? I seen some Le Creuset serving dishes and wooden spoons but they were chinese. :(

to be honest I'm not sure but I think I saw 'France" on them when I was helping the wife get the tags off the bottom. I'll check when I go home. I do remember seeing "china" on a couple of their wooden kitchen "gadgets" come to think of it. i have to say though, their silicone spoons and spreaders/spatulas are the best I've ever used. I bought one of their long silicone pastry brushes for BBQ sauce. cleans up much easier than a traditional brush.

Jonnesway (http://www.jonnesway.com.tw/) 8mm XZN (1/2") made in Taiwan at NOK 103 and no-name impact driver (1/2") made in Taiwan at NOK 139. Gotta dig the metal box.

Don't know the overall quality of Jonnesway tools but it took well to being hammered into one of the bolts that had a mangled head.

Both bought and used today on a VW Passat.

happy birthday

Thank you. Now I'm an old man (30). :)

but looks good !
Itīs better to invest in good hand + power tools anyway :)

Yeah, my though exactly. It'll be good enough.

:shocking: how did that happen ?

Well, it involved a rusted stuck cotter pin, a big hammer and me. Must have hit in a slight angle.

i wonder if only the "Bauhaus-Matador" tools are imported now or the non Bauhaus stuff too ? We have some Matador wrench sets in rectangular plastic boxes, upon closer inspection wrenches in one box were marked "HR" which is a brand from India ... :shocking:

I don't know, since Bauhaus is my only source of Matador so. It's sad, since Matador was a simple way to get a quick fix of German tools :)

cute cutter :)

Cute tools is category of it's own :)

Wow 2 days without GJ and so many posts to read, let's start from the start:)

Yeah, this thread grows so fast! If you're gone a few days it's much to catch up to.

Mixed brands + quality tools, i like it:thumbup::drool:

Heres some pics from my trip in Ohio, the batterys died in the Bosch section.

Strange signs. We don't have then in my staat.

Fun pics! Thanks!

We don't have those signs here either, but for a different reason... :)

Yeah but its $400... I'm hoping to find a bare tool for cheap as I already have batts and a charger. :) I seen some new 18V batterys with power levels so I tried them in a few older 18vtools and they worked. :) Also of interest was a 18v jigsaw that had a feature I wish my 1590 EVSK had, an LED light.

Don't remember if you told me about that drill but its definately on my wishlist.

Good question. I have no clue. Perhaps they're happy enough with their current share in the market and see that further expansion will only expose them to great competition?

In fact I don't know. But I suppose that this process occurs during production to verify the quality and the fitness of the jaws. According to Gedore the jaws of the spanners are given their exact dimensions only after the hardening process. So I guess that this happens after the thermal treatment and and perhaps after the Shot blasting. You can see the Production stages here. click (http://www.stahlwille.de/en/products/eco-forged-and-finished/comb-spanner-takes-shape/)

And this is from Gedore General Catalog (http://www.gedoretools.com/index.php?dispatch=pages.view&page_id=13)

Are those as cheap as they are here? I mean for that money, it will beat many real brand names. I got two of those, just for keep all loose items. I hve being very happy for those toolcabinets.

The bottom is 1999:- (€220) and the top 1499:- SEK. They're about the cheapest "normal size" boxes I have found. And having felt them in the store, I'd say they're about normal quality. Felt much better than the Wisent ones at Bauhaus.

Glad to hear you're happy with owning them, I hope I will be too.

Monte and anyone else that may know....

I have been looking at the new Bahco tool catalog; After looking through it; I find it interesting that some of their tools like the bits and impact sockets... plainly read "MADE IN GERMANY" and some of the sockets say "BELZER" on them... another old German tool company, looks like they are using other OEMs to fill in their tool line.... GERMAN... how can you go wrong with that?

http://www.bahco.com/catalogue/english.html

Oops, more research reveals that BELZER I guess is now part of Bahco...

http://www.branchen-info.net/wuppertal/werkzeuge-gross-und-einzelhandel/bahco-belzer-gmbh_758066.php

Although, it seems Belzer doesn't have its own website for some reason... I guess if they are owned and sold through bahco... there is no reason to have one...

Monte, did Bahco buy BELZER at some point? I know that I have seen vintage tools that were BELZER branded and it seemed to be that the company was on its own at one point. What is the story/history on this? Inquiring minds want to know... :)

Monte, did Bahco buy BELZER at some point? I know that I have seen vintage tools that were BELZER branded and it seemed to be that the company was on its own at one point. What is the story/history on this? Inquiring minds want to know... :)

There once was the history of Bahco on the older Bahco website, itīs gone now it seems, but iirc Bahco bought Belzer in 1988. The production went offshore later, the pliers were from france and sweden then, sockets + wrenches from Argentina etc. The Belzer tools were the mechanics brand in red metal cases (socket sets) the Bahco tools for other professions (woodworking etc.) and DIY range (socket sets in orange cases). Belzer once was like the Snap-On of germany but thatīs history :)

Spotted the brand new Bosch multicutter/multitool Bosch GOP 300 SCE at a dealer. Features: 300 Watt motor, speed dial (8000 - 20.000 RPM), SDS toolless blade exchange system, constant electronics. €269.- + tax with "L-Boxx" included as well as 8 accessoires and 40 pieces of delta sandpaper.

And good news for American Lockpicker: The tool is "Made in Switzerland" :);)

I don`t know i didn`t ask for free stuff they just gave it to me. Normally the fair is just for companies/businessmen to find new exporters/importers, wholesalers etc. So i guess they will give you a sample too. I also got them although i was almost the only one without a suit and tie :) But probably in most cases because we had a nice "chit-chat" and it also could help in case of the free Grip-on tool that i had a package of one of their first tools with me when Grip-on still was named "Arpes" 23 or 24 years ago...

@Hazet:
Nice !!! The Hazet 916F (as well as the 1/4" and 3/8") ratchets are one of my all time favorites! I really dig the design !

@Hawk:
i know ! :D ;)

@superautobacs:
yes they did but i was too late :) They already had several twisted (Bondhus) and broken (wera) L-keys laying around there.
The Channellock driver has absolutely no play. There is just plastic "inside" no metal clamp like the traditional ones (which also have no play - at least "Belzer" brand (new) and very little play - Wiha (used))

ps: nice Beargrip driver ! Lucky guy ! They just changed the handles ! They now look like the Athlet branded ones (http://www.wuppertools.de/images/product_images/popup_images/5780.jpg)

I took it for my bike collection but in don't reality believe that I will put it there! :D
If you wont one I can send you! The local dealer have more than he can sell so I can achieve a good price. I took mine for 10 Euro. I Know that this is the price for the 6" adjustable wrenches but I think that the smaller (4") are even expensive. (Here in Greece at least. He told me that the first price of that was more than 20 Euro. (24 if I remember correctly).

thanks for the offer, i will see if i can find one here first

Ok.. It's time for some photos I think. :bounce:

nice comparison pics !!!!!! Thanks !!!!!!

Monte do you know how durable is the finish of No 7? I think that your roommates in the garage have some well-used Νο7 in that awful toolbox.

yes there are several No.7 wrenches, normal style but also "XL", the finish is very durable and should last a very long time.

Ps. I finally asked for the price of those NOS Hazet!

Hi there, new to this great site and thought someone here might have some info on these Wagener spanners.

These ring open enders in the pics are what I would call a short series spanner. They are stamped Germany.
The double open enders I have I would also call short series. They are stamped W Germany.

I have owned (what is left of the full set I bought) for about 24 years. It`s the only set I have come across in Australia.

Is this brand still around ?
Were they rated as being any good? (Not that that really maters as I have pushed them hard and they have served me well).

regards Tony

In my area it is highly thought of, its probably the same way in Ohio. I'm not sure how it is elsewhere as they have a cheap line of powertools and thats probably what most people think of when they hear the brand Ridgid.

I don't know, since Bauhaus is my only source of Matador so. It's sad, since Matador was a simple way to get a quick fix of German tools :)

Noticed the same COO issue in my Bauhaus, but was able to pic some german made from their pile to complete my spanner set.

I found that Hornbach sells WGB for a similar price. They are stamped 'Germany' maybe it's an alternative. WGB seems to be comparable to matador.

Wow! Impressive! Hobbyist or pro?

Serious hobbyist I guess. I don't use the tools to make a living. I am getting ready to do some major remodeling work on my home and make some furniture. I now have more time to do these things and I will retire in a couple years and have even more time to do the things I enjoy.

Oh, so it was a misunderstanding then. I thought AP complained that this state had tighter regulations than his.

Yea. Every year they have less inventory, 10% of the tools for sale are display/used(with new prices that are raised constantly...)yet they stay in business somehow. :headscrat Also right down the street in Grangier which has a ton of inventory and even customers(something you never see at Fastenal...) I'll try and get pics of their soon. They have a lot of NOS Irwin tools, Victorinox, American assembled Makita, Bosch, and other fun stuff. :)

I took out the tools and looked for a label and its made in China. :( I was hoping it was made in Switzerland or Germany.
:bounce::evil:

In my area it is highly thought of, its probably the same way in Ohio. I'm not sure how it is elsewhere as they have a cheap line of powertools and thats probably what most people think of when they hear the brand Ridgid.

yeah older models, but not mine :(
the 450N still look "old" click (http://www.hazet.de/fileadmin/catalogue/020683ba.jpg). The 610N has the old look too. It seems only the combi wrenches have the new design.

Maybe itīs cheaper to make the forging die, because the milling machine can make it faster with the newer simpler design ? Or maybe so the wrenches are easier to clean for our american friends ? :D

Old but it very valuable to me:) got it as a gift from my young brother:thumbup:

Nice:drool: Quality tools do always look cool , even after 20 years of hard use:thumbup:

Kunyīs tool holder

Nice to see that some brands still use nice leathers and not only synthetic

I received a lot of Festool orders last week. I'm still waiting on a few items that should arrive this week.

Geilo Norway

Didn't know for that brand, thanks:) What's your opinion about their drivers, are they strong enough ?

Received package last weeks..sorry for a bad PICS quality in sunny day:)

My favorites wrenches:beer::drool::thumbup:

Those Hazet are beautiful even when they are used!
I like to see quality used tools. :)

+1

Maybe itīs cheaper to make the forging die, because the milling machine can make it faster with the newer simpler design ? Or maybe so the wrenches are easier to clean for our american friends ? :D

You're probably right, it's cheaper to make a cast with a two steps design than one with three steps.

I like all Unior tools. Specially the wrenches and the new ratchet. Have you any?
Once in a store I played a bit with the ratchet. Very, very smooth! Ι compare it only with the U-10 of Gedore which is one of the smoothest that I have try!

i have only old Unior No.190 ratchet,My friend has one of the new No.190.1,
looks very good, and has 75 teeth that makes to work as the swiss watch..:)

Came across this wrench last night as I was cleaning up a work area, any more info pertaining to this brand?

It was essentially 'abandoned,' and so I got the go ahead to take it home!

The front, as you can see in the picture, says ALSTRONG GERMANY. The back of the wrench says, ALSTRONG DIN - 3113.

for some reason i just cant get into the handles on the cutters/pliers. they just feel to bulky to me. yet thats my preference.

as for tools-- i need to raid my work box and see what all i have that is actual german made. As i work on 99% german autos. i know i have stahlwillie and hazet allen sockets. heyco and gehawe "L" style allen keys, gedore and dowidat wrenches. Kukko pullers piesler counterhold tools, wiha and wera screw drivers and a few other odds and ends. I never really paid attention to where it was made as long as it was quality.

with that said, i really want an assistant/rollmaster. willing to trade a 911 pinion depth tool for one even up :)

very nice !!!!!! Another NWS beauty :)

Just got my set of Hilti tools today and found out there were made in China? What gives! Here are some pics.

nice Hilti tools !

I hope its Swiss made, also I found out the hard way that my 1590 EVSK isn't up to cutting metal when I tried cutting up a sign earlier this year... The saw blade snapped as soon as it hit the metal. :shocking:

Which type saw blade ? Maybe the saw blade was guilty for not cutting metal and not the saw :)

Slovenia I think, if it is(some are made in China...) and still on sale Monday I'll most likely get one. :)

not swiss made ?? :shocking: :bounce: ;) ;)

USA made? I bought 3 of those a few years ago and they all had big Made in USA/American flag tags on them. :)

noo coo..... Could be eastern europe or asia too...

These Proto pliers should be made by NWS???

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-3-PROTO-181-184-186-INSULATE-PLIERS-GERMANY-/120693489707?pt=Pliers&hash=item1c19e4802b#ht_2346wt_936

i guess yes, the combination pliers have that typical NWS head design

I received 3 new Stahlwille ratcheting wrenches this week. Only got to use them once this week. Will post pics after the weekend.

Forged or stamped ?

ps : I've tested the tool yesterday on my car. Works perfect:)

I didnīt doubt that it works :)

Didn't know for this brand, thanks:thumbup:

The Marantz digital recorder is made in Japan.

The mic is made in the USA. The headphones are probably from China. They were cheap and I couldn't find a COO on them.

Ah, hallo! Beta-man, your also here then. ;)

There is a factory promotion going on right now. They are only 120 EUR ex. VAT ($156 ex. sales tax) here in Finland and probably in all of Europe too. AutomatiquE, with luck your local distributor has this promo too, I was told its factory promo so they should.

Loved the Beta tool cabinets. Might get the C24S/7 for my home tools as they are also heavily discounted.

Hello All,

Finally signed up after lurking these forums for months. Actually, this thread was what brought me to the site in the first place and has helped to expand my knowledge of tools.....soooooo informative. Took me a few weeks to read all the posts and I must say that it was time well spent.

Anyway I recently purchased a Beta pulley puller and the quality leaves much to be desired. At it's price point I think that the finish should be flawless. On the fence on whether I should return it.

Second and third pictures show a dent and a chipped looking corner of the leg on the right. Factory flaw?

German tool fans,

If you were going to get a set of Wera Kraftform Plus – Series 900 (Chisel drivers) would you get them with or without the 1/4" drive in the handle? (932 /6 or 932 S/6?)

On one hand, if you never use it - it is a waste, just an area to gather dirt and grime and I think they would be easier to strike with the rounded profile.

On the other, you may run into places where it is useful.

I have to admit, I have some 1/4" drive handles with this and I have never used that...but it might be different with screwdrivers.

Itīs "Lux" brand. www.lux-tools.de
Sold at the "OBI (www.obi.de)" big box stores. But i donīt know who the OEM is, the design is already a bit older ("american style cutters") Maybe made by Orbis (www.orbis-werk.de)

Bonus points if you can guess what this German made item is.

lamp ? vase ?

Damn I've been ripped off. All the Starbucks here is American... :lol_hitti Around the turn of the century I went to one to try their coffee(horrible tasting and nothing like whats in the glass bottles...) and got a tin of mints and the tin was made in Switzerland. :) Everyone I've seen since has been chinese though.

Sooo I gotta ask is this Danish made coffee available here???

:)

i guess the european coffee is manufactured in Denmark and the american in america. Donīt make sense to ship coffee in paper cups from Denmark to the US i guess ?

Here is more Beta stuff, this time old tools.
Grip pliers do not read "Italy" on them, so that is sure not made by Beta,
Ones in left are sheet metal snips, really old desing.
All those tools are unused and from mid 1980's

The locking pliers could be german (http://www.bollmanngrip.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=3)

German tool fans,

good question..... Whatīs the price difference ?

Just picked up a gedore 4550-20 torque wrench

quick question its rated from 15-150 foot pounds.

I looked and do these have accuracy ratings similar to snap on, where its 20% limit limit of range, or 20%-100% of range accurate?

i donīt know if i understood the question right , but it is accurate to +-3% of any reading. If you adjust it to 15 pounds for example it is accurate plus/minus 3% and if you adjust it to 100 pounds again +-3% ....150 pounds +-3%.....

I know these new tools, i've seen them in a recent fair. The oil filter wrenche may be a good idea. Others...

no pics ? :( :)
yeah the wrench seems to be a neat idea !!! They can keep the other things :D Ok maybe i could need the impact wrench :D

At one US supplier who carries both versions in 6pc sets, the version with the 1/4" drive is $6 USD more -- or $1 USD more per driver for the 1/4" driver in the handle.

Here is my "christmas present", or I migth say; "I bought Santas old torque wrench and got really cheap almost like present (60€)"

Stahlwille 730 "Manoskop" torque wrench with Stahlwille 734/40 insert holder for 3/4".

Range is 75-400Nm total length 64cm

I do not know age for this particular wrench, it got very little use on it, since last owner (friend of my) told me he bougth it as used item around 1995 and had never used it. No wonder because range is little high for normal engine work, I mean I tested it to ligth alloy wheels and almost the weigth of the thing is enaugh for rigth torque. what I have tested against my other torque tools, seems to be very acurate, yet; it stil needs correction chart.

My Stahlwille dealer has cut open demonstration of Stahlwille Manoskop. If there is no force on the wrench the spring system is unloaded, so it will not "creep" even if left on highest setting.

 on the Vessel 900 series scredrivers, I have the above set plus sizes 1 and 2 + stubbies, - stubby, + and - 400mm length drivers, #3 + driver, and 8 slotted. The knurling is what got my attention, and I love them for it.

Also the Megadora Impacta driver are impressive, great for getting an impact into a tight spot, I have the #2 and #3.

JDV Products (www.vesseltools.com). There aren't many distributors of Vessel tools in North America. LevelChrome carries some Vessel products also, but not the whole line. I think the prices at JDV are reasonable and I have never had a problem with an order from them.

I'm not sure, but C.K. seems to be a reseller like Würth. They are buying tools from other companies and sell the whole bunch of tools to who ever may need these tools. . Amazon.de offers a lot of C.K. and most of the tools are expensive and made in germany, but not all.

Few odds and sods I bought recently from my local secondhand tool shop.
I was in there looking at these screwdrivers, thinking that the length would be handy for getting to carb screws and that they looked "a bit weird" so I bought them.
Got them home and had a go with one and found out that it Clicks then doesn't allow any more torque to be aplied to the screw as it sort of freewheels after that.
When I checked it out on the net I found more info on them... Soltork preset torque limiting screwdrivers (http://www.southernbearings.co.uk/mad/features.php), made in England and although I bought them in with a few other tools I reckon each one cost all of about fifty pence for me to buy.
