Any see this Ratchet that Williams sells.

I really like the idea of the thumb direction switcher. In a nice place.

Anyway, curious if anyone here has used one?

Yeah that's nice, but I can't understand why Europeans feel the need to put a hole through the handle of everything ... they've even got Toptul doing it because they assume the Europeans wouldn't buy their ratchets without a hole in the handle. :wtf:

Europeans tend to have less space in their garages. Like, a lot less in many areas. Gigantic 72" locomotive-toolboxes just won't cut it, so I imagine frequent use of pegboard is in order. Therefore, a hole in the handle helps.

That's my take on it, at least :rocker:

Neat display, but at my house, the kids would take everything and lose it within a week. All of my stuff is safely locked up in rolling cabinets and hand boxes. I started locking everything up after I found the kids sticking brand new Snap On screwdrivers in the ground and using them to mark the perimeter of their soccer field.

I'm sure the look on your face would have been priceless!!

If you look at the ratchets and other socket tools on that rack they have them hanging by the head, not the hole in the handle. So the hole must be there for some other reason.:headscrat

Silly people, the holes are there so you can stick a Christmas hook on them and hang from the Christmas tree.

Don't the rest of you hand some tools on the tree every year?

Damn, I would like me some of that Beta stuff.

Too bad the US dealer Pro Tools did not offer good customer services and return customers calls? I know when someone calls me with a credit card ready to buy, I help right away. Pro Tools or whatever the name is, nothing. No replies to emails or calls.

Oh well, I go elsewhere and buy different brand.

But sweet picture. Very drool worthy.

Hole in he handle is for a lanyard when you are working where you can't reach it when you drop it.

Just an idea.

I was browsing ebay and came across this ratchet. I remembered seeing it on here, so I did a search and found this thread.

Did you guys think the direction switch was on the head, or in the handle?

On the BAHCO the direction switch is on the handle, while on the Hazet it's the knurled thing on the head. The knurled part on the BAHCO is a spinner disc.

Did you happen to get a 3/8 from seller isc2001?

ebay is messed up. If you search for BAHCO, I get 73 results. However, if you search the seller isc2001 for BAHCO, you get 77 items. None of his items show up in the original search. I feel like I've been missing out on a lot of good deals.

Actually I think you got ripped off! JK, it depends on how well it works. Please post picts when you get it. I'd like to know what you think about the handle switch. I don't know anyone else that makes a ratchet like that.

Just thought I'd add a few things.

This is a pretty interesting lookin ratchet, and I have this image to share:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=35524&stc=1&d=1247627067

IFAIK, this, like many other Bahco and newer Belzer items such as wrenches, sockets, and drive tools are made in Argentina. What you see sold in internet stores are more than likely NOS items.

This ratchet may not be well suited in an abusive environment as I believe the thumb switch and speeder ring are both made from plastic.

Well, the Bahco ratchet arrived today. Very well packaged and nice quality. Like superautobacs said, it is made in Argentina, the thumb switch and speeder ring are plastic, which may not hold up as well in a abusive environment. The round head is quite small so that it fits into tight places and the gear action is almost equal to the Craftsman RHFT .. I'm quite happy with the purchase. Great deal
