I can't believe this M-52 has gone this high and still has 21 hours left! Not a good enough deal for me, but a really nice ratchet!

Small tools are very collectable, espically older 1/4 ratchets and 4" adjustable wrenches. It sucks when you want something and the price jumps past what you wish to pay or expect the item to go for. But then again its eBay the next one might go for under $20.

Paladin, did you ever do any good on a B-52?

I think my Japanese no-namer is better looking. :D

Yup, the deal with Rickster is still a go. I'll be glad to get it, too!

Merk- Nice rat. It looks a lot like a Daido ratchet I have. What's the selector look like?

I think because it is "NOS" New Old Stock; that sucker went through the roof! :( Probably do not run into NOS of that vintage very often, these days! There always seems to be collectors out there with deep pockets; that are willing to spend more then I am willing to! :)

Man, that ratchet is nice. I forgot that they made that style in 1/4 drive. I'm hoping to find a used one some day so I can afford it.

That ratchet is not through the roof. Its only at $26 bucks. You guys are cheap sometimes.

I doubt it cost $26 retail...

"through the roof" is a relative concept; in this case it was higher then he wanted to pay, in this case it is "through the roof" for him, LOL! :)

Speaking of "thru the roof", look at what the final bid was. God Gawd...

56 bucks ! Sheesh.
:shocking:
The description says its "at least 30 years old".
Does anyone know when they stopped making those ?

I have the 1/2 drive version of the Williams. Excellent 80 tooth ratchet and one of the most elegant ratchet designs ever. I can understand the appeal but I would not pay that much.

I absolutely agree! I have a 1/2" S-52 and it's my favorite ratchet. Thanks to Rickster, I have a 3/8 B-52 on its way as well. I would have loved to have that little M-52, but I know I can get one for a better price. I'll just keep looking...

Yeah, I have my eBay search thingy email me every time Superratchet shows up. I guess that search misses these little guys (1/4"). What I really want is a B-53 with the longer handle. I'm not sure if they made a B-53 but I'm on the lookout regardless.

I picked my S-52 up for $15 with a 3/8 Craftsman ratchet and a few extensions at an Estate Sale. A eBayer had come through and bought all of the tools but the sockets and one little drawer that he missed with the super ratchets. I wish I had bought all of the sockets. It was an odd mix of SK, Willimas, Craftsman, SO & Facom.

Maybe it was the same bidder that paid $150+ for the old Craftsman speeder ratchet - someone's got money to burn.
