After reading a post on these things, I decided to go down to Sears and pick one up and give it a try. At first, I thought that the bent handle was kinda goofy... until I tried it. Now I use this thing for just about everything!!!

Welcome to the Bent Handle Ratchet Club. You will be receiving your new member packet in the mail soon, including your membership card, membership certificate (suitable for framing), iron on jacket patch and club decoder ring.
I've been using mine for 20 years and it's still my "go to" ratchet 90% of the time.

You guys really like those? It looks like it might be kind of awkward.

No... don't get me wrong... teh Snap On is just fine. But it's just a standard F936: no bent handle, no flex head. Just a straight ratchet. The one that I posted is a Cman full polish bent handle flex head. I used it yesterday with an oil filter adaptor. Made the job WAY easier. This ratchet is "in addition to" not "instead of." Maybe I should have been more specific. It's my go-to ratchet when a standard ratchet isn't appropriate.
the best part is that I traded a standard Cman 3/8 ratchet (that was slipping) in on the new Cman, and just paid the difference. Gotta love Sears!

Im with ya! It just seems like your apply torque sort of offset from the axis of thebolt. Hard to explain but I think you know what I mean. And Ed, if you dont want that crappy snap on ratchet any more, Id be happy to take that piece of junk off your hands now that youve got this one

I love those. I have the exact one. It's the only 3/8" ratchet I typically use as well.

Man with that thing I no longer have to worry about tightening nuts and bolts standing on my head with my arms behind my back at an angle

Now I use this thing for just about everything!!!
I've used a Snap On ratchet similar to the one pictured as my grab first rachet for years. These are great with a deep well socket you can get your leverage back to what would be the straight point.

EXACTLY!
Also very handy as a speed wrench once the fastener is broken loose.
I've got an SK from the late 70s I think, and picked up the Cman for the other tool box just recently. I like them for spark plugs since the flex handle allows you to get around headers and other obstructions depending on which cylinder I'm on.

I WILL SECOND THAT, I tried it at the store the other day and the guy there would not let me trade up like the other fellow did, that is the one I wanted to buy Ed ke6gbnl

Exactly right back at ya, that's why I originally bought mine. These are THE tool when you've got an FE (390-428 with headers) block in a Mustang or a V8 in a Monza.

So if I buy for my next daily car the new Ford Fusion this will be perfect ratchet....cause everyone that has worked on Fords knows how hard it is to change spark plugs on there sedans

Actually....
The Cman has been my go-to lately, but just today I did plugs and wires in my dad's 98 Park Avenue. The bent handle flex head was terrific for the fronts, but the Snap On did the rears. They are both great ratchets. Just have to use the most appropriate (or fun) tool for the job!
