Thanks to all of you who helped in my quest for the right drill press. I learned a lot and really liked the new Jet and Delta presses. Also would love to have an older American made one. However, I'm not into heavy production work and mainly just messing around in the garage. Sooo, this week end when I was at Home Depot and saw a Ridgid 15", 1/2 hp floor model in a damaged box I impulsively asked for a deal. The one in that box was actually damaged but they found another one on the shelf in back that had all the styrafoam broken but no apparent damage to the drill. We dickered and they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I put it on hold and checked for negative info on the net. Finding nothing really remarkable, I bought it. Yeah, it is Mao-made but which one isn't? The Delta 16.5" that I really liked was also.

What do you guys think of the Ridgid 15" DP? I can retun it if necessary.
