I am starting to think about doing my garage floor soon and while I would prefer epoxy but there are certainly huge advantages to the RD system (no floor grinding, easier DIY install, etc). My biggest concern is how water on the tile is dealt with. Does it make the tile slippery? Does it get under the tile and allow mold to start growing? Living in northern Il and having a heated garage my floor is wet a good part of the winter as the cars thaw every night.

Any insight on this?

We are based and I live in Salt Lake City, so we get our fair share of wet & snowy roads. RaceDeck offers very good slip resistance when wet and is very easy to keep clean. When you pull in with road slop and it falls to the floor, it is easily mopped up. As for water and dirt falling through- the seams between tile to tile are tight and cause hydro-static tension whick keeps 99% of th liquids from flowing through. If any does get through, the floor is suspended 1/2" and so air and ligquids can flow, eliminating mold & mildew issues.
I actually wash my cars in the garage during the winter, the water flows right out the door.

The diamond plate pattern keeps them from getting too slippery. Water will sit on top and evaporate, there is very little water that makes it under the tiles since they seam is pretty tight AND they allow air flow under the tile, I doubt you will have any issues.

My own garage was flooded twice over the years and I never did anything (except enjoyed the floating tiles, makes walking on them fun when they are floating on a 1" of water, ok, you have to have a 4 year old with you for the fun part), they just drained over the next week or 2 and dried, no mold.

I prefer epoxy too :rocker:

Now, there are advantages to both systems. A polymer coating like epoxy will seal the floor while the Racedeck is an easier install.

But, as I've mentioned many times... if you're going to buy tiles then buy them from a quality American manufacturer... like Racedeck!

If you make the WolverineCoatings is a great company and he will surely stand behind his products, or if you go with RaceDeck we will too. Of Course RaceDeck is the smart choice :bounce::bounce: lol
