I've got a P-140 7/16's hex. The SO man ordered a replacement bit, but it doesn't fit. The socket's too shallow. The bit can't fasten inside it. The S-O driver hadn't seen one of those sockets in a while. Maybe the bits were different then? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Because I'm not sure I do. Maybe pics would help.

I have a P-140 that takes an 11/16's that allows for a long bit. I use that socket all the time. But the script and design is a different.

The one that takes teh 7/16's has an industrial finish, older script, and looks sort of a like a "torpedo" in shape.

The P-140 is a power impact socket (industrial). Its made to be a reg. 7/16 hex socket with no bit.

the P-series of snap on actually is a pre impact ... as Snapmom said... the Pstands for power.... they were standard sizes.... were released between 40"s and 50's... todays P?N would be IM-140 or 7/16 Impact socket.... hope that helps some
