I have an older pair of Snap On 911BCP long needle nose pliers, and just got a new pair of the same model pliers in a set. The old ones, though showing wear and corrosion, feel pretty much as you would expect; they operate smoothly. The new ones, on the other hand, do not operate smoothly; they have an indexed feel, like consistently spaced bumps/ridges throughout the motion of opening and closing them. I can't imagine that this is intentional based on the way they are constructed (well, I can - but I would imagine a joint like that would wear and eventually become a loose joint).
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Is this normal? The other pliers in the new set do not feel this way, so I'm thinking this pair isn't quite right. But, since it a long pair, I don't know if this a new "feature."
