One of our members was looking for a particular tool and Elroy had what this gentleman was looking for. We approached this party and in jest quoted a sky high, ridiculous offer just to test the waters. Elroy stated a price so damn high it would make ones jaw drop.

As a testament to this mans character, he politely declined.

Elroy sent him the tool he wanted gratis. In return, Mr. Harding sent Elroy no less than a dozen miscellaneous high quality tools in exchange. We couldn't believe it. A very generous and manly response to be sure.

So Elroy would point out that what goes around, comes around and as proof of the fine people who participate here, Elroy offers up this little jewel:

Oh By the way: Thank you again Mr. Harding for your military service. You've done us all proud

Hope you're enjoying your "turning Iron".

Please tell Elroy that is one fine looking socket! It must be the attention to detailed manufacturing that gets our juices flowing in tooldom.

Tooldom, ah that's a place I'd like to live. Only the finest quality tools allowed, and at HF prices:bounce:

Elroy is right, what goes around definitely comes around.

So you wanted a sky high price...and sent him the tool for free. Why not just price it accordingly?

Where would be the fun in that!!

I for one admire Elroy's bizarre behavior and unconventional rationale.

Well we went back and forth a few times. Elroy initially stated "make a double digit offer"

Mr. Harding responded something to effect of: double digits, that could be as low as 10 bucks and I want you to be happy...........throw a price out ill see what I can do.

So Elroy said; How about $40 and a discussion.................

Elroy could tell he wanted it so I sent it to him.

I think in the end we were both happy. Elroy more so because there wasn't a single piece of crap sent in return.

Like I said: What goes around comes around!!!

I was fair and the return treatment was royal. A very pleasurable exchange in which Elroy is actually now indebted. Damn it. I hate when that happens.

I owe ya Matt.

Thanks again

That there is a nice socket, proof that back in the day even the economy stuff was awesome.
Also, well rendered by Elroys photography.
