these are the some of the screwdrivers I got from grandfathers tool collection... I am wanting to find an aproximate age for them.... also wondering if they are an older version of the professional series? handles are larger than the normal releasesI could take a picture of the differences in a bit if anyone is interested.....
also, if anyone has it... i could use a matching replacement for the 1/4" x 6" straight blade... the one in set had broken tip.... already replaced ... gave me a pro series in exchange after i suggested it may be an older pro series

Man, I was totally dialed into Sears tools all during the 80's, but I never recall seeing the handles he is showing!

here are a few closer picture comparing like sizes between black handled craftsman pros, modern standard craftsmans and the one that i am asking about... for reference, i used a mini no.1, no.2 philips and a 3/16 straight blade

I have some of those. Not sure of the age, but some of them have square shanks, too. I think I even have the one you seek, but not sure I want to part with it. From my Dad's collection I believe....

yes, the one i am looking for did have a square shank as do most of the larger straights... i appreciate the fact that you recognize the family heritage in the ones you do have
