I am in need of another set of hex bit sockets 3/8 & 1/4 in mm for my travel box my preference is for non stepped hex shanks and swagged attachment to the adapter. The Balckhacks and Protos look exact in pictures on Granger and their respective web sites.
brands I have used
CM not worthy of daily use let's leave it at that
Old Husky non stepped shank great stuff no longer available my lats one is wearing out.
new husky stepped shank and more like CM not worthy of daily use.
Kobalt stepped shank marginally better then CM
SO good but ungodly expensive and PITA to get swapped as most trucks never have stubby replacements.
Wrench Force by SO awesome reasonably priced and great quality no longer made I only bought single for fill ins should have got a set or two.
Basically hex bits are a disposable tool to bicycle mechanics L sets have to be replaced yearly. and socket sets usually at the most last several years. it all has to td with over torqued fasteners , poor broaching of the bolt heads and massive repetitive use daily. The best L and T wrenches have been PB Swiss/ Pedros I have gotten several years out of them.
