Holy Tools!

I was with a friend of mine today whose father owns a major electrical contracting company in the area. We were about to get lunch when one of his foremen called him for some pieces that they needed to complete a project for a major customer. Well, that meant that we had to put off lunch and high-tail it over to the warehouse. Now, I have heard about the warehouse, but I had never been in it. I saw more cool stuff in that place! Did you know that Greenlee made 1/2" drive ratchets? I didn't until today. There was Hilti and Milwaukee equipment everywhere. They had an uber-cool Greenlee conduit bender... right next to a Wellsaw horizontal bandsaw complete with Baldor motor. About 6 different pipe threaders. More neat old wrenches than I could count. I wish I could remember all the other neat stuff that I saw - and I'm just talking about the tools. Some of that stuff had been there since they opened the warehouse in 1969 (IIRC). They also had the complete array of commercial electrical supplies. Man, that place was an education inside four walls.

I wish that I had a camera with me, but I had no idea that we would be going there.

Anyway... just had to tell you all about it...

You should see if you can pull your car up to the back door if you know what I mean.... kidding of course.

The Greenlee ratchets are parts for their manual KO sets-not meant for use with 1/2" drive sockets. If you had a chance to handle the ratchets,you would have noticed that they use a pin that holds the ratchet onto the drive sleeve of the KO driver. They are also a pretty course toothed ratchet of lesser quality than one meant for socket use.
Greenlee has some neat stuff-everything from quick change holesaws/arbors to monster hydraulic benders to bend 4" heavywall conduit. They even have an electric powered bender that can be programmed for repetitive bends. Anything an electrician needs for making holes,bending conduit or pulling wire can be found in the catalog. Everything is of excellent quality and well designed for it's purpose.

They come in knock out punch kits AFAIK

No,, not this one... no pin. That would have made more sense...

In fact, it looked like an old Snap On (I thought it was at first, but the Greenlee name and the green handle said otherwise). The ratchet was rather coarse... maybe 20 teeth? I dunno. It was cool, though.
