So I picked up a couple of new toys this weekend...

First has anyone ever heard of Precision drill bits? I got a set in a gray drilbox just like the S/O stuff comes in.. the guy said he thought they might be metric but they are labeled as sizes A-Z. I can't seem to find any info on them.

Second bought a new S/O FX80.. 3/8" drive long handle locking flex head off the Snap On guy today. Normally not opposed to digging around for used stuff but I'd be eyeballing this one for a few months and I have a couple of projects coming up I know it'll be put to good use on!

You can also find total charts adding in metric and corresponding taps onlne or in tool catalogs...
To keep life simple and easy to understand, traditional drillsizes came in three ranges, letter-number-and fractional! I have no idea why those commies saw fit to invent metric...
Note that you need a bunch of drills to correctly fit a normal range of taps!
Number sizes are usually split intp the tiny ones and bigger sizes in different indexes. Too tired to remember usual split.

Precision Twist Drill (PTD) company you would find them in just about every aircraft maintenance hangar, as you would A - Z and 1 - 60 drill bits, very high quality drills.

If you can figure out how to take off the black locking lever, can you see if you can modify it so it stays unlocked?

I don't have a hex small enough, and I don't want to mess mine up:bounce:

Do they say USA in the same place (normally) on all of the Dual 80's?

I think so. I believe it's inside the same circle as "Snap on"

I haven't heard of any **recent** ratchets with USA on em

Bought it off the truck Monday. He had it on the truck.. no waiting, etc. I dunno... are others not stamped USA? I'd imagine this is fairly new stock as he wasn't sure he had one left. Said he'd be rolling through them pretty quick. Hmmm maybe enough non USA complaints left them pretty open for comments from other tool truck drivers so S/O decided they'd better stamp em?

I have a Huot 115 bit drill index. Holds numbers 1-60, A-Z, and 1/16" to 1/2" by 64ths. I have filled it with Precision drills (PTD). American made drills, American made drill index.

I have 3 flex heads and none are stamped USA.
FHX80, FHOF80, FKF80

I know this has been discussed to death. I figure the usa stamp was phased out, so I was suprised to see a new one stamped.
