I was going to order from that site but I want to pick up these below. However, they aren't listed on nepros.net for sale. That's why I was looking for possibly a US importer.

what does one of those set you back?

looks like it's about $148 give or take a little....
quick way to convert or get an idea is to move the comma back one place like it's a decimal point so if it's 14,800 yen it would look like 148,00 or $148.00
So if a used Toyota supra in Japan sells for 2,350,000 yen it would be around $23,500.00 and actual conversion on that = $24,152.09 so it's pretty accurate

Those look like the Mont Blanc pens of the ratchet world. For people who prefer flashy looks and a high price tag over substance. They almost spelled the name correctly.

That may be tool porn, but it is certainly not lacking in substance; nepros is a very high quality tool.

Maybe the quality is good, but $150 for a ratchet?:headscrat

sometimes we all pay more for something than we like to admit. I know I have spent a lot of money on a product not only because of the functionality but the way it looks. I could have bought something that cost 1/4 to 1/2 the price but it just isn't the same nor does it get the same attention.

Ah, but now we're talking about good value!
No, it's clearly not good value...

I understand. It's almost "art".
There are some woodworking tools I lust over, but have no real trouble resisting when I look at the price!

Just from curiosity, I have searched in the past for possible KTC/Nepros dist. in North America. Not much luck other than that nepros site and http://ultimatetoolco.com/default.aspx. Maybe you can contact Ultimate Tool to see if they can order you in some Nepros stuff.
I just looked through the Nepros site and was quite surprised that the prices are actually quite reasonable! I only say that because I've been turned off after looking through many Japanese sites and their prices.

They claim they used extremely high quality steel call 5GQ. Anybody know anything about it. What steel does Snap On used?

They are the tools supplier for the Japanese military. I want to see a torque test between Nepros and SO.

I wish KTC or Nepros would respond to my email so I can try to add one of these to my lineup.

The last time we went at it, the United States military beat the crap out of the Japanese military. I'm thinking our tools will do the same to theirs now.

Hmmmm.....well I don't know about that?
I have a KTC-made Fuller ratchet that is damm close to SO quality, IMO.

America win because it has a much bigger arm forces and much more natural resources.
Look at the auto, commercial electronic, machinery industries. Who is winning?

I wouldn't say that at all. The Japanese have stricter standards, make better cars and electronics, and most of all take pride in what they do. After the war we helped them rebuild and yes at first the stuff coming from Japan was garbage. However, an American named Edwards Deming http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._Edwards_Deming whom was kind of shunned by the US went to Japan and helped them implement TQM (Total Quality Management) a better way of doing things. It truly turned them around and made them what they are today. I have no problem saying that the Japanese make better quality products than most of the stuff the US does. I am not saying they make everything better though. We do have some good high quality companies like Snap On and Liberty Safes. You will never convince me to purchase an American made auto though.

Her name is Eri Inoue. My first contact is through their Nepros ordering website. Is that where you sent your message? I suggest you send the message again. If you still don't hear from her, I'll dig around for her email address. I still have it somewhere. I went back and forth with her with many emails just to get things cleared up for my order.

I found an ad for Nepros in a tool trade magazine I found in a dumpster. The ad said email for a catalog so, I did. A week or so later comes the catalog with an offer for a free tool if you contact the website and sign up for ads over email. That I did, thinking it couldn't be much, a socket. A week or so later DHL shows up at the door with a package and they sent a 3/8" stuby ratchet, equal to the SO FK720. The Nepros has a quick release, sealed head, and a much better handle shape. I couldn't believe they sent a ratchet. This was 10 years ago, but still a high dollar item. I have the SO stubby but reach for the Nepros first. Wish I could afford to actually buy some.
