I have a Snap On F720A, it is a 20 gear, can the gear be replaced with one from a F730?

You'll also have to change the pawl I beleive.

Well I think that is the kit for the F830 and the pawl has a scew on selector to were yours is a peen on one and it will come with seals for the F830. The F730 is not a sealed ratchet.

Gear, pawl, selector, detent spring + ball bearing and a new dustcover.

Any tips on removing the old stuff? any tips...

Take the screws out. Tap it over a garbage can. to drop out the old guts.
Clean all out well with brake cleaner,Compress air dry and install new kit.
Its that easy.
