Went to a ceremony tonite for my brothers auto tech high school class.. My family bought $10 worth of raffle tickets and won

retails for $170 on Mac's website, so not bad for a $10 investment.
Decent way for my brother to start off his tool collection

If you take out the "nice" part you can.
kwhitelaw ,
That is an awesome score. Hope they serve him well.

Great deal!
I actually got a full set of Craftsman (the red one's) on sale for $17.99. I thought that was a pretty good deal and while they're not Mac, they seem to be good quality.

PistolWhip,
I haven't seen that "One ass to risk" symbol in a long time. One of the gunwriters came up with it. I don't remember who.
Yes, I think the Craftsman punches and chisels are a great value. That's what most of mine are.
To the OP, so how is it that your brother gets the punches? Who bought the winning ticket?:bounce:

he is enrolled in the auto tech program at his high school. last night was an end of year type banquet to show upcoming sophomores what the program is like, and give out awards for a couple kids who are going to the national competition..
they were raffling off movie tickets, ice cream gift cards, a small snap on tool box toy display thing, and these punches.
my family bought a total of 10 tickets at a $1 a piece, and won the punches on the first call.
will make a good first addition to my brothers own tool box once I find the right one for him.

Had a fair amount of resurgence as of late... Alot of deployed folks have patches on their chest plates.

winning things can be fun. years ago when I was in college I ended up buying 6 raffle tickets for $5. I didnt really pay all that much attension to what the prizes were because the girl selling the tickets was really cute.
I eneded up winning a 59 edsel (good condition restoration, but had a few miles on the restoration job)
when I did the paperwork ad DMV I listed $5 as the price I paid

I've had that set for many years and it has served me well. Probably the first complete sets of good tools I bought.
Congrats to your brother on the win and graduating.
