Wilton vises on CL [Archive] - The Garage Journal Board

Just wonder what opinions are out there for these vises and the price.
As far as I know the old Wilton's were well made and this seems like a good price to me. I'm looking to upgrade. I have a small Columbia (red arrow) now that swivels.

Those are a good deal, not sure the size of this one but it swivels and is a good deal. This is a great price for a welding table if you need one too. I thought hard about running up and grabbing it.

Damn good deal. You can't beat those old wilton vices. We have a whole bunch of them at work that have seen all kinds of action, and they all still perform perfectly. I've wanted one for home for a long time now, but I can't seem to find a deal on one.

That is a rippen deal. When I was at the Turlock Swap Meet. There was a guy that had a real clean one like that and he wanted 225.00 for it. I passed.

I'm just thinking that I'd miss my swivel base. The Columbia that I have doesn't seem like it "locks" when the handle is tightened for for the swivel. I don't know if other brands have a better mechanism to lock it in place.Maybe I'll wait for a swivel style to show up.
