I'm on the lookout for a good vise. This one popped up locally, and I was wondering if you guys thought it was a good deal or not. I don't think it's a great deal, but I'm just starting my investigation of vises, so I'm not up on the market yet. Vises don't come up often in my area, though, so if this is a good deal I don't want to let it pass.

It is a nice vise. 200.00 is kinds steep. But seems that every one that has these old Wiltons knows what they are worth.

So its basically up to you.

Nice looking vise. Probably worth it, but is a little steep. I don't see nice vises like that come up for sale often.

You can always offer less...I'd start at $75, cash in hand. $100 top offer; if not acceptable, walk away. There will be others.

Definitely not a steal, but worth it if they are hard to find in your area.

I recently bought a new Wilton Vise for a lot less than $200.00. Actually, it was less than $100.00. Ordered it thru Northern Tools, the same one is listed for $119.00 now but when I got it it seemed like it was $89.00 (can't remember). It's got the 360 degree base and head and I haven't busted it yet.

Of course, I looked for what seemed like years for a used one at garage and estate sales with no luck. As soon as I bought this one, now they're falling from the sky!

Those new ones are no where near the quality of the one thats in question.

This is the made in asia wilton while the one on craigslist is the made in usa wilton, hence the difference in price. The asian version is an alright vise but nothing special, the american version is the one that will last forever.
