Bought a BUP288 pinless 3/8" impact swivel, when I ran across the dealer while waiting to get my pickup serviced.
$43 list price, he quoted me $37 + tax, everybody happy.

I was impressed by this pinless design the first time he showed them to me, several years ago. Altho Snap On seems to have cured the problem of shearing the pins in their impact swivels, this was a long time in coming, for MANY years, the MAC impact swivel sockets were stronger.

I will introduce it to my 3/8" drawer, and all its Snap On residents tommorrow, and see if it is accepted. It will have my Matco 3/8" impact driver set there to talk too.

Now I have two 3/8" impact swivels, one for standby, along with the 3/8" shallow and deep impact swivels, and a metric set of shallow impact swivel sockets. Old habits die hard.

He did say that NO dealers in his area were ordered closed by the government.

the matco is the same as the craftsman correct? both made by Danaher, with the pinless lock ring design?

I have no idea, but if it is the same as Craftsman, I will have increased my Craftsman tools to maybe 5.

I bought it off a truck, which is the only thing that matters to me.

The pinless impact swivel joints in 3/8 and 1/2 are clones. However for some unknown reason, the Craftsman pinless impact swivel sockets have taller bases than their Matco relatives.
