Drill bit extension that can fit 1/2" bits

Does anyone know of any drill bit extensions that can fit larger bits designed for a 1/2" chuck? Most of them are only setup to accept smaller wood boring bits. I have a set of ship auger bits that aren't quite long enough for my application and I would rather buy a bit extension instead of rebuying new, longer ship auger bits.

Milwaukee does make a set of quick lock extensions that would accept them, but the connector is a larger diameter than the bits.

This would be an easy job if you had a friend with a lathe!
