I’m going to be doing a lot of tire maintenance including rotations and balancing. I’m working for Hertz. What flip socket do you recommend and what size? :headscrat

My Wright sockets in SAE and metric work just fine for me. Many years of trouble free service.

I use a blue-point 19/21mm flip socket on corvettes and other vehicles with aftermarket wheels and limited lugnut access. Otherwise I use regular impact sockets. I have snap-on. The finish wears off of them before I break them. Alreay replaced the 19mm once.

i would get the 19/ 21mm, the 3/4 x 13/16, 7/8 x 15/16.

I'm using a mixed bag right now; Cornwell, older Wright OEM Matco, both marked "made in usa", I don't see much if any wear on them and they work great! :) I have a Craftsman; the only problem is that the walls are too thick for many of todays wheels; I picked up a grey pneumatic socket the other day and the walls are very thin for the newer wheels. Craftsman does sell a thin wall set, however.... I'm thinking thin walls are the way to go for the newer cars...

I would get the Craftsman thin wall set.

That set is made for Sears by AJ Manufacturing. AJ makes tools for truck brands as well.

I have all SUNEX impact sockets, they work great... Cheap reliable, lifetime warranty. Can't ask for anything more.:bounce:

I used a Blue Point set for a while. It worked well, but because my gun is fairly low powered on really tight lug nuts it would just flake out because of the torque loss between the extension, and the slop between the extension and the socket. I finally just bought a set of the Harbor Freight half inch impact sockets.

Plus I needed a few odd sizes, like an 18, 22, and 15/16ths, so it was more cost effective to buy a set.

However, for standard lug nuts they're great.
