I have been looking locally for older proto professional combination wrenches. I came across this plomb flare nut wrench and picked it up after reading about them here. I am uncertain of the age, but the fit and feel is better than the new craftsman professional flare nut set I just bought.

I will most likely sell this one as I DO NOT need something else to collect.

The open end side is thick; it appears to be the same thickness as the flare nut end!

I gave a link to the article on Alphonse Plomb. It says he sold the A. Plomb Tool Company in 1927 to Calif Tools. Calif used A. Plomb on some tools. The article ends in 1999 when the third generation took over.

I have one wrench with A. Plomb and Calif-Tool, and two wrenches with just Calif-Tool.

I am actually pretty surprised how clean this is...

This thing is beefy too. I put it with my old mac combination wrenches...makes them look wimpy in comparison.
