I was looking around on Mac's website and on their main page part way down there is a picture of a tool cart from a building that collapsed. I got a laugh and thought I would pass it on...
From:
http://www.mactools.com/Default.aspx
"Midwest Auto Repair in Rapid City, South Dakota exploded from a gas leak. The roof of the building was blown into the sky whole and landed on a Mac Tools MB1900. The MB1900 held the roof up and nobody could enter the building until they could figure out how to remove the roof from the top of the tool box without further damage. The tool box encountered only a couple of scratches! Fortunately no one was injured in the explosion."

I picked up one of the sets too, Taiwan goodness all the way, except the nifty tool bag that's totally China.

I saw that picture a couple of weeks ago with the sweet macsimizer holding up the whole building (roof). I was so surprised since after watching snap-on's video I was totally convinced that if I rolled my macsimizer over a crack in the floor it would collapse in on itself if I wasn't careful.

There is nothing wrong with a macsimizer I was looking at one myself but decided to get the Snap on one as it was more convenient. A guy that works at my dad's shop has one that is black and orange, I think its a Harly Davidson one or something.
Note though in there videos how they say "we put them under similar pressure" How much is "similar" another 10lb could make or break somethings.

They arent.
In all seriousness though, I saw the article a while back too. Its cool, but I cant say it makes me say, "Wow". That is a pretty big box.

also after watching the snappy video I checked my supports under the top of my box, and they do go all the way to the edge, I have no idea where they got their box for testing.
I assure anyone wondering that I have put my MB1350 through more moving than any toolbox should endure, and it is F***ING tough. (And Bigger that the double bay snappys) :bounce:

I seen a truck around here once, A long time ago. When I looked at buying the Tool box from them I had to deal directly with MAC tools. That is why I bought a Snap On tool box, there are 5 trucks all within 300Khm, So warranty etc is not an issue.
I would love to see some one bring a Matco truck to town. But I don't think daveblank would come this fare. I am just not a fan of dealing with tools over the phone and would rather have a face to face person to deal with.

Wow, my rep just told me yesterday theres a brand new MAC dealer in another town about an hour away. Apparently shes selling tools like crazy. Though he thinks that might have something to do with her big boobs and low cut shirts. :bounce:

Ive delt with several Matco dealer's over the years alway's had good prices but lately there prices are higher than Snap On ive had several Matco boxes and liked them well i would have goten another one when i up sized a year ago if there finance department had not tried to screw me because i was a previous customer the were going to give me a great intrest rate of 22% But if i hadnt had a credit line with them before it would have been 8%
