Six years ago, SAMS Club had sturdy blue plastic storage totes, with clamshell lids, for $4 each. They were roughly 15x12x20. I bought $120 worth when we moved: it was a lot cheaper than buying cardboard boxes from U-Haul, and they were perfect for moving heavy stuff in my shop.

I still have a lot of them full of shop stuff, and lots of them are holding project car parts. I also have one with electrical outlets and fittings while I'm wiring the shop, three of them are used for hauling my swap meet promotion gear, etc. etc. etc. They're absolutely awesome for the shop, as they hold a lot, they hold it neatly, and they stack on shelves well.

I need more. I'm about to start a Plymouth Duster project, and I need more bins for storage. And I need them cheap. Second-hand or used is fine. I probably need about 20 of them... maybe a few more. And if I have to, I can load them up and take the extras to my swap meet to sell.

Anyone have an idea where to look for tote boxes, particularly in the Atlanta area? I tried a websearch, but I suck at the interthingy.

Thanks,
-Brad

Don't know about ATL, but Home Depot had some for $10 that I stocked up on. There aren't clam lid, but are rated at like 450 lbs and I have been loading them with heavy auto parts and stacking 3 to 4 high. I think Tough Box may be the brand. Black bottom, yellow lid with a diamond pattern for strength.

I have a bunch of those clam shell boxes from sam's and have been looking for another source. I cannot seem to find good ones like that anywhere. The ones at Home Depot and Lowes are a poor imitation and almost double what I paid at sams.

I have right at 100 of those from Sam's and have been looking for more as well. Costco has a similar box in clear with a black lid but I haven't checked yet to see if they're the same.
