View Full Version : Screwdriver bit set for cordless drill
I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a good screwdriver bit set for a cordless drill. Currently I just have a cheap B & D set and the bits don't seem to hold up very well. If possible I would like a set that offers a quick change ability and some small drill bits but those are not must haves. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Not another APEX thread, hahahah. APEX is about the best you can get in my book, and that is what most aircraft mechanics and the airforce use.

Cooper is OK but I've never seen an american product top something from Germany.

Can I get other people who use APEX to back the quality up? So it doesn't seem like I paid everyone to say that,

Have they also used WIHA and WERA? To have something of quality to compare to...

I want to know for the people who think APEX is good what you have compared it to? I think my APEX bits are at least as good as my Snap on acr bits, and my apex bits are old from the 70's and don't show a lot of wear if any.

Thanks for the recommendations. Any suggestions on best place to buy them? I'd prefer an actual store as to online as I'd like to look at them in person before purchasing. Thanks.

i just buy the cheap vermont or dewalt packs of 20..i loose them more than anything, and i dont really like the quick change bit holders like the one posted. i prefer the bit holder/guides. that said i havent really had an issue with my cheap bits other than loosing them in random places

Came here to say something like that.
I've probably got 200 various screwdriver type bits that'll go in my drills. They're probably one of the most disposable tools I own. I don't think I've broken very many in my time, but I also believe that they have about a 3 year shelf-life before the bit fairy comes and takes them away to live long and fruitful lives in the place where ink pens, that second sock from the dryer, and that last socket you used go to when they disappear.

DOn't know about other German brands, but the Hilti were horrible compared to the Apex I've tried.

I beat the holy hell out of SnapOn hex bits, but the Apex have really held up.
