New Cman Club Rewards, Details via ToolGuyd (http://toolguyd.com/2009/07/new-craftsman-rewards-program/)

What do you guys think - is this rewards program a good idea or not? Basically, depending on your spending tier, you get back 2-4% of your purchase as coupons off of future purchases.

I am not sure at this point. I am wondering how the current promotions will change because of this. If this is in addition to their current promotions (and they stay similar), then it's all good. Otherwise I am not too thrilled about it. :headscrat

I thought I saw something on it, but the only thing I remember, was when I read it, I thought "bring back the 10% off everything during CC sales".

There is stuff I want, that is never on sale.

I was wondering why I hadn't received the CC flyer lately. I thought it was just not getting to me. (Mail service in Vegas stinks). I liked the %10 off deal but will wait to see it fully to give my $.02

On Craftsman.com, it's said "Upgrade your purchase, club members save up to 10%" when viewing almost any product. I was waiting for an announcement that they're bringing the 10% back, but I guess that's just a random marketing phrase to get people to join the club.

I haven't gotten any flyer since 2007. But I keep getting Craftsman catalogs, complete with embedded Geico advertisements.

I tried to use the link in the new flyer to upgrade my membership but, it didn't work. Maybe it's not active until 2 August when the new sale dates start. Time will tell if it's a good reward program or a waste of time. I'm with everyone else that would like to see the old 10% off all tools during the club days but, lately club days seem to last all month and the selection is the same old stuff. When you think about it, if you've been an active member for a couple of years, you probably have bought most of the tools featured in the monthly flyers. Opening up the 10% sale to all tools would increase sales for Sears. This new program may end up like alot of Sears sales, hit or miss.:wtf:

Maybe Sears is awakening to the fact that their share of the tool market is rapidly diminishing ? The planned promotion is based on the purchase level of the customer. This program is alot like the ones the grocery stores in So. CA have had in place for several years. The more you buy the greater the rebate. I know that there is an active anti Craftsman group out there but for most of us the brand still meets our needs. Give it a try. If it does not work spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere.

Craftsman is not the same tools company it used to be. Their old tools use to take abuse and hold up. There new tools about 80% trash.

Craftsman can. Well you know what. Craftsman has some pair. Let’s make crap tools and use the made in the USA gimmick to sell tools and embarrass the USA name. In the automotive field Craftsman is known as CRAPSMAN. Stick to Sears.Don’t buy from them tell them if you are going to use the made in the USA name please make a better tool the Taiwan. It’s embarrassing

The catch with most programs of this type is that discounts won't stack, so they are effectively worthless. I'll wait and see, but I have nothing big ticket left to buy from Craftsman.

Don't matter much for me but I voted yuck, because thats my opinion of that store in general, haven't been there in years and don't ever plan to go again.

In the automotive field, all the brands have names like that. Snap-off, Crack tools, Crapco, Cornhole or Cornhell, Throwsoverthecounter, etc.

TRUE! But Craftsman is really CRAPSMAN. Except for the impact sockets.

I'll sign up for it but my tool purchases probably won't amount to much.
