There seem to be a magazine for everything, but I was surprise there is no magazine dedicated to hand tools. At least I am not aware of it. Does anybody know if there is a hand tools magazine out there.

Depends on what type of tools you are interested in;

Automotive:

PTEN: Professional Tool and Equipment News, mainly a industry rag; primary focus is tools for the professional automotive technician, shop owner, a show case for new tools, sometimes it just seems like a big press release for new products but still a interesting read.

MOTOR: same publisher as PTEN, again for the automotive professional: focuses on engine performance, driveablity and diagnostics. Lots of ads for auto diagnostic tools! Articles delve into detailed troubleshooting with computer based tools, explaining new engine technologies, industry trends, new tools etc. Breakdown of the mag on the cover: Troubleshooter, Trade Secrets, and Service Slants.

Yep .. I get PTEN and it's pretty good for automotive stuff; pick up any wood working magazine and they have mini reviews on woodworking stuff ..

Am I the only one who thinks PTEN, is almost a big collection of new tool press releases, directly from the manufacturers?

No, I've said that here before when people start quoting from it. However, PTEN is nice for having a single source document highlighting most of the new automotive tools. You just can't take the articles, I mean ads for anything more than publicity for tools.:beer:

That's what I was thinking too.

I WONDER IF ANYBODY ON THIS BOARD HAS WON ANY TOOLS FROM PTEN?
