Anyone seen an Air Compressor Intake Muffler? I saw one on TV today on Spike and was wondering where you might find one for a smaller compressor. I did a search on google and just can't find much.

A friend of mine used to own an Auto Body shop, and he had an intake silencer on his (very large 3-phase) air compressor. I don't know where he got it, but it did quiet things down significantly. Another trick you might want to consider (if practical for your application) is to pipe the intake so that it originates outdoors. That alone will shift a bunch of noise from the inside to the outside, but in a residential area it might also cause problems if you have neighbors in close proximity.

I am in a town house and there is no way to pump it outs side. The compressor is fairly quiet on its own but I am trying to prevent any complaints about noise before they start.

If this is for a standard, oil-less compressor, it won't work. The silencer that I picked up will not go on this style of compressor, as "ours" is molded in and non-adjustable.
