I have been working on my garage to bring it to the level that some of you guys have.
So far, I have epoxied the floor, painted the walls and bought some nice tool chests.
But I have an insect problem. From ants to crickets to spiders, all kinds of insects want to seem to want to start up residence in the garage.
I have sprayed insecticide on the floor where the garage doors come down to. This seems to have made a slight improvement.
However, I want to know if you guys have a better solution to this annoy problem which is bugging me. :lol2: Thanks.

Not sure about Socal but in Florida most insects come from the lawns here. If you treat about a three to five foot perimiter around your outside walls that my help. I would solicite a professional company to come and treat once a month or whatever interval they see fit. Some of the bugs will never go away but the majority of them will never be seen again.

Have you tired Ortho® Malathion Plus® Insect Spray Concentrate?

Here it is on Ortho's web site, I have used it and seemed to worke very well. I have spiders in the house and garage. It is some strong stuff!

Check orthos link out below.

greg was right. i use a combination of these two. one is dry for the area outside of the garage and the other is a spray liquid to get the entrances to the garage. they both are at home depot and fairly inexpensive. i haven't seen an insect in my garage in 6 months and that is saying alot because of where i live.

with the spray remember to get the area above the door also, do all 4 sides.

is that stuff safe for doggies?

I wouldn't recommend sprinkling it on their food as an anti-flea supplement  (just kidding)

I try to keep my dog away from it, but if he does go in an area I have put pesticides I just clean off his feet with a wet rag when we go back inside. You don't want them licking their paws after walking around in that stuff.

Get about three or four bug bombs, seal up the garage and set them off. They will kill anything in there.

I bought these little glue stick pads at Home Depot a while back and place them at the little space between the garage door and the frame (I am going to weather strip this area tonight).
It makes me very happy to see the hairy crickets and water bugs stuck on them trying to enter my favorite room! ;)
I will post a pic if anyone wants to see the carnage
