Got this office trash can at a sale for $2. It was white. But I liked that it is metal and how the lid opens. A little House of Kolors Tangello pearl. Now it's my can under my work bench. I wish I knew someone to pinstripe the lid. I know it's kind of silly to paint an old can. It's wierd what I think is cool. http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv207/bb1970gj/DSCF0017.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv207/bb1970gj/DSCF0016.jpg

Silly my ass! That's cool! Get it striped and you'll be even better off!
Next thought.... why do you have HOK fancy paint lying around to paint a trash can with?

Believe it or not, my dad restored a can like that. It's a little wider and shorter, but it's made specifically for oily rags. It seals on top. He banged out some dents, repainted it, and keeps trying to sell it at the swap meets in Charlotte.

That is a cool can, if not pinstripes, how about a few vintage stickers strategically placed, or a lady luck or flying eyeball or something like that? Love the color too! Bravo bb, well done!

Heck, for $2, I'd take two or three of them home.
If not pinstripes how about flames? Unless it is used for storing oily rags...

Some folks might think we are wierd enjoying a custom trash can,,,,,,,,,,,,but what do they know

I agree about great can, I have an old commercial can we use for paint junk but that can is perfect for oily trash, if I happened across it for 2 or 10$ it woulda been mine too. Expensive, a lot of fab work to make one, they last a long time, not like you see them beside the road daily.

I think the springs on the lids were broke on this one, probably why it got gone but I screw them shut, add a handle and just use the hinge. You can see where it resides, I like the pointy top. Keeps some stuff off of it.

That is a sweet trash can. Give it a good clean + disinfect though. Foot-open can's are generally used in situations where you mustn't use your hands. (ie medical waste.)

No on the restoring, these are working tractors who's time had come for paint jobs. I usually use Imron on them vs that crappy JD enamel.

That was a very valid point, and one worth paying attention to!
