I saw a Craigslist ad today. Snap on toolbox listed in one ad, parts washer in another one.
He wanted $100 for the Snap on box and $50 for the parts washer (HF variety)
I sent an email, but got no response.
Checked CL later in the day and noticed he had now changed his ad and given his phone number.
I called him and told him I was interested in some of his items. He agreed to meet with me at his house at 6:30 PM
I got an early start and made it to his house well before 6 PM. As I was driving around I realized I was in the middle of CRACK Central.
I was getting stared at for my slow driving by several of the people in the neighborhood because I was looking for his house address...
I drove by his house early and he was not home. Sooo..
Went to the local deserted strip mall that had only a pawn shop and a Family Dollar still in business. Noticed several people go in the Family Dollar with no shirt on, they did not come out anytime soon... I guess that was no issue.
Watched a drug deal go down in my rearview while I waited.... I figured they didn't think I was a cop by my obvious bad placement and that I was in a truck... Anyway... I waited a while
Finally drove back to his house and saw the Snap on box and a like new HF parts cleaner... I asked what was the best price he could do and he said he was as low as he possibly could go.. I even though I thought that $150 for both was a very fair price.

Got the Snappy box home and cleaned it up a bit, The drawers in this thing really glide nicely, except for the top one. I removed the drawer and found out why... A bent slide.... NP I just need to call my Snappy man.

I removed the bottom drawer (To find all the stuff that people lost) and pulled out a long Made in USA 3/8 MAC ratchet. (That was a nice surprise)

Anyway this box is in pretty good shape... I won't give the model number so that Lookin4'67Galaxieconv can guess it. But I will give this hint. It was made in a year popularized by the rock group Smashing Pumpkins.
Here are some pics of the Parts washer... He said it was used once... I actually believe him.

I don't think that these were stolen by his demeanor.... He was working at a transmission shop (had the shirt on) and said that he had bought another box... I asked if he had bought it off the truck and he said he just had... Good for him....
But as I cleaned the Snap on Box it became obvious to me that this box was well taken care of (except for the last 2-3 years of its life (My Humble Opinion)), and was given to someone who did not take care of it.
I hung these MAC socket holders to remind me of old times!!!!
