I have emailed this seller 4 times in the last week to ask him for a shipping quote and to find out if this bar is a 13/16" or a 15/16" diameter. No response.I guess since he has so many he really doesn't care if he sells it anytime soon.

I find it harder and harder to get people to ship to me in Canada, even if they say they will ship world wide most almost never reply. :(

Its probably because he doesn't want to ship to Canada. Or either he's out of town.
Blame paypal ?ebay for that as once the package gets to the boarder there is no more tracking or delivery confirmation so ebay/pay pal will not back up either the buyer or seller for issues. it was so much simpler when USPS MO's or Can Post MO's were allowed payment as there is an agreement between the countries and fed/ governmental chargers can be pressed cross boarder.

i always had problems using fedex going to canada. They would would allow the package to be delivered, and let the receiving party bill the customs fees to me. Thats what i got tired of.

He could at least man up and let you know.
Do you have any friends or families in the states to ship it to?

I don't use Fedex or Ups because they charge us ridiculous fees to cross the border.USPS doesn't do that since it's gov and both Govs have a reciprocal agreement not to charge each other brokerage fees.USPS IS trackable into Canada, have had many purchases where I have had to sign delivery confirmation to get the parcel. It can be tracked online by just switching to Canada Posts web site once it crosses the border. The customs paper work that everybody says is a big deal is a small paper with about three things on it.What the item is,tools, value, and shippers name.Check out this Ebay page about it:

I prefer not to ship outside of the USA too

It's even harder to get some sellers to ship over here to Europe. :(

Moose I understand the Europe problem. Some people expect to pay the cheapest shipping and still get the item in 4 days.
Or they bid seeing an USA delivery price and try to neg you when you tell them it's going to be much higher and take much longer. As usual a few bad apples kill it for the rest of you. Plus theres always our scammer friends and their stolen cards transferring goods.Everything goes through good then months later your account is froze out of the blue and you are under investigation.

A lot of the time people won't ship here. Many are just rude when you ask. I'll send a message asking if it'd be possible to ship to me and i often just get a single word reply "no".
I don't care how long it takes to arrive, just so long as it gets here. I've had both ends of that, things that should take a week that take about 6, and a model kit i bought from Singapore, was due to take 27-35 days (or something like that) turned up after just 4.
The other thing that annoys me is shipping costs. People take the piss when it comes to this. $42 to ship a screwdriver here? Worse yet when they only want ~$8 for that same damn screwdriver. And they won't offer a cheaper shipping alternative either. I also find it funny when it's $42 to ship a single screwdriver here via Priority International, yet other people will ship a whole set of them for ~$23, also via Priority International. :headscrat

They do it so it will drive up the auction and hope it is not someone outside the US that wins.

And if it is someone outside the US that wins, they charge them out the ass for shipping.

:headscrat What does government have to do with it? Or, more specifically, the Canadian government unilaterally?
I must say that I have had very few problems with Sellers willing to ship to Canada via USPS. But unless it is specified in the listing that they will do so, I always ask them before bidding and just ignore those who say "no" or don't reply at all...

A while back I bought two items at the same time. One was a Melanie C. keychain for one of my daughters. from the Uk.
The other was a couple of small charity boxes from Israel for my mother.
The one from Israel was here in 3 weeks. The little key chain took 3 months to show up.

I bought a special wrench over a year ago from a woman on eBay. I waited more than 6 months and it never turned up. In the end i got an e-mail from the lady, telling me it'd been returned to her, with a "Customs Denied" or something sticker on it. () So i paid her the shipping cost again, and about a week later it arrived.
On a side note, if any of y'all want anything from the UK, Spain (as i'm here for a few more days) or mainland Europe in general, shoot me a PM and i can help with shipping and such. :)

Saying " no" is not rude, just abrupt. Rude is when they say " Fuck No".:lol_hitti

Next time i make an order from the company i got them from i'll pick you up a set, 10-19mm or something. They're not expensive, and are very very good for the money. Mine have been going for 2 or 3 years and i've never had a single problem or complaint about them. :)

You only have to fill in a few things. I always ask sellers to mark the value lower and mark it as a gift so i don't have to pay import duty. Rarely does it get caught and i've yet to have a seller refuse to do that for me. :)

Whatever the reason, common courtesy requires an answer to a reasonable request for info, even if it is, "Thanks, but no, thanks; all I know and or will do is in the listing."

Use USPS to ship to great Britain or Canada it is the only sure way to go with out harassing the receiver with unnecessary fees. For the rest of Europe Airborne Express or Fed Ex generally always ask the intended receiver what works best for them.

I've had several things shipped from UK sellers with no hassles at all.Just as quick via Royal Mail as with USPS.

Well, I have to agree with you there; the whole concept of Free Trade is a bit ludicrous when we still have to pay duties & fees.
But do you mean to say a US citizen never gets dinged when buying something from a Canadian Seller?

Thats what I thought as well.If he doesn't want to ship to canada why have it listed.I have an extra head sitting in the toolbox that could use a handle but I need to know what diameter these are and of course I never buy without a shipping quote.

I've got lots of stuff from e-bay. What I do i email the seller and explain that although I'm from Canada I use a US mailing address. Some still wouldn't sell me the item, others thanked me for the info and agreed to ship to the US shipping address. I even do that with regular retailers.

Same here. Most of the time i just bid/buy and pay straight away. Unless they've got US-only bidder requirements, in which case i send a message and ask.

Now, if a sonic screwdriver was really a tool, instead of a sci fi prop, I would take you up on that. That is the one tool, I have always wished I had when dealing with a broken/broke off/in, bolt.
