I am looking to get a new 3/8 Impact, I have looked at the AT365 and the AT380 I am wondering if anyone has used these or could let me know about them. Or are there any better than these around the same price?

do you have a cordless impact yet?
A friend of mine (who is a honda tech) suggested I buy a cordless over a air 3/8" impact. Best choice ive made.

I would go with the AT380. It is a copy of the old Snap-on IM31A that had been around forever until Snap-on came out with the MG series impacts.

I've only used a cordless impact once or twice, for removing wheels out on the road. If you've got an air supply do you think cordless is beneficial over pneumatic? I have 3 IR guns, all pneumatic and have never yet felt the need for anything different. At home, i don't have a compressor so there would be a benefit for me to have a cordless there, but not at work.
Any insight would be much appreciated. :)

Its a trade off. Cordless tools are more expensive but can be used anywhere. Air tools are a little smaller so they can get into more places but you have to drag the hose. Power difference between cordless and air tools is becoming a non-issue. I sell more of the CT4850HO than I do any air impact anymore.

I guess for me air makes more sense. Never have to charge them, they're smaller and lighter. I don't even use them that often now. When i was doing tyres they did (literally) hundred of cycles every day, without issue. I don't use them that much anyway, i prefer using hand tools, aside from times when only an impact will work.
I can understand why so many want cordless impacts though. :)

the cordless is great, no oiling, no hoses, yes it takes up a little bit more space as far as getting it into tight spaces. I find myself using my cordless for everything but bigger jobs (rotating the truck or the tractor) but as a substitute for a 3/8" drive air impact a cordless works great.
I doubt ill ever buy a air 3/8" impact. If fitment is an issue I crack the nut with a breakerbar and use an air ratchet. I rarely have problems fitting the cordless where it is needed.
the blue point cordless would be the way I would go since you are looking at bluepoint air tools anyway.

although now that I look most hardware store brand cordless tools put out more torque than that. My ryobi puts out 125 ft/lbs. It uses a 1/4" hex chuck though so you have to run it with an adapter, I have never had problems though.
Do you own any other cordless tools as of now?

Cordless tools are useless to me at work. They are either to bulky or too weak to remove the fasteners off the trucks. If you need a 3/8 impact and you have compressor access, go pnuematic. I own a mg31 and I'll praise it all day. But if you don't want to shell out $300cdn for one the at380 is a good alternative.
My coworker had his fail once because he was unaware it had a grease fitting at the front and he never greased it. Aside from that, no complaints.

I have both the 3/8" AT355A and the Nitrocat. For torque, the Nitrocat blows it away but the AT355A feels more solid. The AT365 is probably the replacement for the AT355A. :)

I have an IR 2115QTIMAX. For a little 3/8" impact that thing's got some balls! :eek2:
I have a Bosch electric impact driver (PS-20, PS-40? i don't know..) and that thing is freakin' awesome. For something so small it packs a lot of punch. I'd reccomend it to anyone.

i guess I have a bias towards cordless tools. After living in an apartment for the past 3 years I find I never have electricity in the parking lot where I need it.
I do have on board air on my pickup but the electric compressor isn't really up to the task of running most air tools (I can take one tire off with an air 1/2" impact) and it doesnt complain much, but thats about all the 7 gallon tank is good for.
I get in the cordless mode and then when I go home over the summer, I find myself staying that way. I even have a 18v cordless shop vac that I use when cleaning the car.

My mac dealer told me the mac rebranded nitrocats fall apart quick. But 400lbs/ft of torque is so tempting! :)
