I've had this fan for about 6 months now and I am very happy with it. I ordered it from the site above and paid a little over $100 shipped.

There are a couple cool things about this fan. It is reversible so it can be an intake or exhaust. It also allows the window to close behind it, which some other window fans do not. At full speed this fan really cranks out some air for its size. The fan mounts with 4 screws onto the sides of the window. Overall I have to say this is a great fan for the money.

This is a cool link I found that tells you what cfm size fan you need to completely exchange all of the air in your garage once per minute. This is assuming you give the air an exit/entrance like a slightly open garage door.

I installed an explosion proof fan from Bowlin Enterprises. Here is a link

I also installed their variable speed control and automatic shutters for a clean installation in the wall of my shop. Great company to deal with, I actually delt with the owner when I called. Total cost was around $400. You need a fan like this if you are painting or using solvents.

Hey, thanks for the links, we were just toying with exhaust fans in the shop where we powdercoat and couldn't seem to get one to turn the air over, this calculator should help in getting the right size fan.

As I have alluded to before, I have limited finances to use in my garage in addition to somtimes being cheap and a scrounger! I found an old steel job probably dateing from the 50's or 60's for $5.00 at a garage sale a few summers back. Mine has timer and speed settings with a 1/2 hp crapsman motor. The thing moves an ungodly amount of air and cost almost nothing, I love those deals! I wish mine looked as nice as that one though.
