I have owned several Napa ratchets. They were pear head and not fine tooth. But they cost a ton more that those you are looking at. I'd have to say asian at that price and not great quality. The Napa ones I have have been good, us made and they warranty them for life. Don't know about your models.

No, Napa just has two lines -- Evercraft/taiwan and Napa/USA Danaher. The ratchets pictured in the links are the lower level Evercraft imports.

Not sure, but you may be right.

True. Napa has two lines. The better NAPA professional brand made mostly by Danaher, and the economy line called Evercraft. Not sure who makes the Evercraft.

Evercraft is pretty much on par with the same economy type Taiwan made tools that are sold at Auto Zone, probably made by Great Neck too. They'll get the job done, but if you make your living wrenching, buy something better than Evercraft.

If to go to the napaonline home page, there is a link in the upper right for the NAPA tool and equipment catalog. If you browse through the catalog you see that in Napa's Professional Hand Tool line, their ratchets look alot like KD pear heads or some Craftsman models. Napa's core line of ratchets have the same 36 tooth quick release guts as most Craftsmans. Napa also has some nonquick release round heads with 45 teeth, and their next generation series of ratchets have 60 teeth.

I have a set of Evercraft flare nut crows feet that have worked fine for me. No idea how their ratchets would do.

They are made by Danaher, I wonder if they make a flex 1/2 with the craftsman guts..
Would the guts from the Napa ratchet, 36 teeth fit the craftsman ratchets with a 36 teeth gear?

I just check with Napa NHT NB47, they no longer make it.... it has been replaced by the other one, without a quick release... damn.

Yes, they make two 36 tooth 1/2'' flex ratchets. One is 11'' long (NHT NS55) and the other is 18.5'' long (NHT NS58) and has the same locking mechanism as the Matcos and Armstrongs.

I have 36 tooth Craftsman, Napa and Allen ratchets. The guts interchange between all of them.

Any one? Are the 36 tooth napa better than the craftsman?

There is no discernible difference in quality between the two brands. The handle styles/designs are different. Choose what feels best to you.

I just traded in a broken old NB-55 flex head 3/8" today and received a NAPA NB-56 under warantee. It is clearly stamped "NAPA NB56" "USA". So I assume NAPA ratchets made in the US are going to be stamped "USA". It's a really nice ratchet though I don't know what the true quality is.

Forgot to mention, NAP online wants $70 for the ratchet + shipping. So I think I got a deal!
