So I found this tool up at my mom and dads cabin when we were cleaning things. (They are both gone) Just wondering how old it is and how much it is worth. This is a very old pipe wrench. Very Heavy. As what I know Blue point was also made by snap on. Any info would be helpful!

It's doesn't appear to be a pipe wrench, but an early version of an automotive adjustable wrench. I can't tell from the photos, but I bet it's got smooth jaws right?
Pipe wrenches have opposed angled teeth on the jaws and a rocking moveable head jaw.
Various companies made tools under the Blue Point brand for Snap-On including Diamond Caulk Horseshoe Co.

So it's in the 30s? Do you have a opinion on how much you think it would be worth if it is that old?

There's a limited number of collectors and of those monkey wrenches aren't the most wanted since they were fairly common.Check the ebay link Snapmom provided,it gives a good variety of manufacturers and styles with many BuyItNow prices. She's been a member here for quite awhile and most of us take her word for value. She's a respected collector of old Snap on/Bluepoint tools and hasn't led us astray yet.

Haha, naw we got everything out now. My dad had a lot of tools. I kept a lot of old ones when we cleaned the house out. He was out in the pole barn everyday working on something.

The more rare a tool, essentially more its worth. Your not gonna get rich off selling your dads monkey wrench because they are very plentiful at auctions, ebay etc. Im not saying its not worth more but you would be hard pressed to get more $$'s unless 2 people are in dire need of that model etc. Just pack it away in your toolbox and pass it down the line.

Old, rare, desirable, and valuable are all different things. Old + Rare doesnt = Desirable all of the time. Rare + Old doesnt always = valuable. You need the desirable part (i.e. willing partied) to want the item badly for that rare and old item to have value.

Nope. Never been to michigan in my life. I just want the tool. So I figure I could give him a good offer. I'm from OK.
An experienced collector will research an items true value, rarity, provenance, desirability, etc, and then consider an offer. If this wrench wound up on ebay, the odds of it exceeding $25-30 are extremely low. So being that it has absolutely no historical significance in the history of the Snap-on/Blue Point line, its value is low on the list of Snap on/BP tool values. Remember, rarity doesn't equal high value. Historical importance, rarity and desirability combined are what make a vintage snap on tool valuable on the open market.
I have grown up in a family of experienced antiques collectors. I have been involved in the buying/selling/trading of antiques most of my life. I have yet to find even the wealthiest of collectors just throw around un-founded offers for items. If an experienced Snap on collector says that the tool is worth $30, why would you throw a silly offer of $300 at it? Heck, $100 would have been a ridiculously high offer, and you could have kept $200 in your pocket.

My comments were aimed at redneck09. Unless Krusty, you were also willing to pay $300 for this wrench? Hahah, I think you'll need to up the bid to $350 if you want it that bad!
