How do you get the jaws off a Reed vise? I see no pins or screws.
The jaw inserts are rabbeted in.
Sorry for being so hung up on vises here guys...trying to get this little bugger painted up but I need to get the jaws off. I'll post up in the VOGJ thread later.

There are pins, they're probably just covered in paint. Should be on the top side if I am not mistaken.

It's down to shiny metal. I wire wheeled the whole thing. I'll try to get pics.

Ya they are different...
I drew a pic due to lack of picture. Perhaps the jaws were no replaceable on these?

I am trying to separate the red and gray (figuratively) pieces.

I have an old vice with pins holding the jaws in too. They go into a blind hole. How do you guys remove them? Drill them out? I dont really have to replace the jaws at this time, but they do have a lot of wear, the "teeth" are very flat.

I could be wrong, but I am almost positive they come out the other end.
Maybe someone who bought one of my Reeds can comment...since I no longer have any of those children in the shop. :(

Yes, the pins have holes on the bottom. I think the pins have a head on them, and would have to be driven up, via a punch from underneath.

You can see the pins on the top of the vise in your second picture. Beat 'em out with a punch.
On Edit: That is, on bmwpower's second picture.

You guys have a different jaw style than I do. I'll post up real pics but the diagram is pretty true to form. The jaw insert does not cover the whole jaw, nor does it protrude into the cast iron.
I would say you guys have dadoed jaw inserts, mine is rabbeted.
