I can't remember if I heard about this board on the HAMB or from one of my other car-related boards that I read to keep myself from going nuts. I don't really count as a HAMBer, per se, I like to read the board and learn about those, but I have my hands full with my old RX7 right now. Maybe when I get done/tired of that one I'll start a hot rod, but that's down the road for now.
At any rate:
I'm 27, married with a 1-year-old, and we bought a house about 6 months ago with an unfinished half-basement underneath. Since there's already a garage door there, it wasn't hard to convince my wife to let me use part of that as a wood/machine/whatever-needs-fixing shop for a few years until we can get around to building a detached shop on the back corner of our lot. Of course, I sweetened the deal by telling her that I could finish the rest of that half basement at the same time... :bounce: I have some questions about how to best go about finishing the space, which I am about to post up in the general forum and see what I can learn.
I've been lurking for a while- lots of cool shops here. Maybe one day mine will be as noteworthy.
