I'm pretty good at guessing, if we can see a frontal pic I can probably nail the cup size, but the number is always hard to guess from a pic.:pimpflash

You might as well get used to the feeling. Pretty soon the only thing made here will be national debt.
At least you got some quality German stuff.

sooo glad we don't have a good looking "tool girl" coming by the shop .... i would be more broke than i am now. As for the torx drivers, those would match my new screwdrivers very well.... always more stuff that i want.

Forgive my ignorance...
Are there such fasteners on modern vehicles? If so, what's the application?
I've encountered tamper-proof TORX on commercial laundry machines and other such stuff...

Usually airbag related items have them. I've not found them in any other areas on the vehicles i work on.

I've seen them used for ignition switches and steering columns.

I know a lot of Nissans use them for the screws that hold the MAF sensors into their housings.

This is what the $6 100 bit security set from HF is all about, they are all in there ready to go into the bit holder of my choice.

Yeah, I thought Krusty was having a hot tub pow wow, with a bunch of hot chicks, darn am I disappointed.
Those Cornwell/Witte drivers are durable, I don't care for the "velcro" on the handles, but they are good drivers.

Cornwell must recruit women to be their dealers. There is a woman Cornwell dealer that runs in part of my route. Before anyone asks, no I do not have any pics and you would not want to see them if I did.

Then I have a follow-up question...
I can understand the use of tamper-proof fasteners on a commercial washing-machine or a parking-meter or some other such thing where they provide at least some security against theft.
What's the thinking behind their application on cars? I guess the ignition switch is understandable...

it's also to stop your backyard mechanics from screwing with things like airbags and seatbelt tensioners. Generally used on things that shouldn't be interfered with unless you know exactly what you're doing.

Torx are used all over VW/Audis. Bumpers, fender liners, interior parts. THey use triple squares a lot too.

Torx I understand; it's the tamper-proof bit that I question.
I think speed bump is closest to the truth...
