I've seen some of your pictures, are we talking bikes or BIKES (motorcycles)? Gladiator Garageworks makes some storage utilities to hang the pedal kind from.

My parents are big mountain bikers and they always used those jumbo hooks to hang the bikes upside down from the ceiling. Cheap, doesn't look to shabby, and takes up very little room.
you can see the hooks along with a few other bike storage ideas here... http://www.bayviewcycle.com/NewFiles/Acc_pages/Storage.html

thats what we do, and we have like 6 bikes in our family, just hang them from the front wheel and your good to go

There's a neat hook for GearTrack.
"Tracks" are long strips of GearWall - instead of a full on GearWall Panel. Should be cheap enough..

About $50 will get you a nice solution with some "Track" room for more hooks to hang more stuff..

Even better, here's a starter pack with a bunch other hooks:

Add a couple of bike hooks to the order and you're off to the races...

Here's some additional solution ideas that are not from Gladiator. Take a look at these from Schulte accessories.
http://www.schultestorage.com/catalog/option.asp?poid=76
these run for about $39.40 and can be incorporated in storeWall systems (http://www.storewall.com) or can be mounted directly to your wall.
You can also get the bike hook for $20.00 same installation reqt's.
Anyone out there know of a good manufacturer of those cable systems that mount the bikes to the ceilings????
