I hate to be a whiner, but it sure makes it tough on us dial-up folks to download, especially over in the General discussion group. All the photos and fancy sigs make opening some of those threads a real pain, taking as much as 4 minutes. I like to see photos as much as anyone else, but avatars should suffice for personalization, rather than the larger photos found in the thread and sig portion.

I can make it so that the attachments show up as small thumbnails, then to see them you would just click on the thumbnail. Let me do that first, and if the sigs are still killing your load time we'll go from there. Thanks for bringing this up.

Damn, this is a tough one. My current server doesn't have the correct software to allow me to make the attachments into thumbnails. Give me some time to work on this and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Luke. This is a great site, and extremely informative. I'm sure there are others in my predicament, although in my case it may be moot if DSL installation goes as planned next week.

your life will never be the same after broadband
I plan on changing servers in a month or two so that should speed up the site big time in addition to letting me run the attachments as thumbnails for the dial-up guys.

I'll be stuck on a dial-up for the forseeable future, so anything you can do for the little guys is very much appreciated
Thanks Luke,
Brian
