I've seen all the posts on this board about different types and brands of compressors so I should be pretty well informed but I have a question. I'm looking to buy a 115v upright compressor.I can't really spend over $400 right now on one. I had pretty well decided on the $377.00 Husky brand from Home Depot. Recently Tractor Supply opened a store near me. I was in there and they carry a Alltrade brand compressor. What caught me eye was the price,$269.95. I've never heard of Alltrade so I tried to do some research. I found their website but it had no listing of the type of compressor Tractor Supply had. The specs on it are 5.8 cfm @ 90 psi 125 psi max cast iron direct drive oiled pump. It's a 30 gallon size. Anyone seen or had any experience with an Alltrade?

Don.

Agreed, however thats about normal for a 110 compressor.

However, isnt alltrade what pepboys sells? If so, RUN AWAY!!!! Since Ive begun welding, I tend to look at the welds on manufactured goods and some of the welds on these imported compressor tanks are down-right scary. Craftsman compressors arnt all that bad, but as I said some of them are junk. I was in pepbos yesterday (they sell crap but have great sales on oil and cleaners) and I noticed the welds on the little compressor they were selling wernt even straight! They wandered all over the place, forget about consitency.

Just a thought. All craftsman compressors are on sale, or at least they were yesterday. Id trust Husky or Craftsman because there are two big companies standing behind the product, so I would feel much safer.
